Now I'm no hair gel expert....

so I need a little help guys, especially from my natural or texturized ladies.
I would like to try a wash-n-go today. What gels or leave-ins would bring out my waves and keep my spirals from frizzing up?

ps. why is it so important for gel to be alcohol free?

I like Aubrey Organics B-5 Design Gel. It's natural and doesn't clog my scalp. You don't need alot.

Alcohol robs your hair of moisture.

I'm still not good at doing a wash n go myself (and I know we have similar hair types) but you might want to try IC Fantasia Gel w/ Sparkle Lights (I've heard good things).

A few months back someone on this board recommended using IC Fantasia with Sparklelites. This product has done wonders for me. It's alcohol free and the sparklelites leave your hair shiny. Also, don't forget to use a great leave in like Salerm. I also use olive oil before I apply the gel.

I want to know too. I have yet to find a gel that leaves my dry hair looking the way it did when it was wet. Once shrinkage sets in, my hair frizzes right back up.

I recently discovered the Fantasia Gel w/ Sparkle. It is one my favorites. I also use a activator gel that come in a big jar. Got it from Walgreens and can't remember the name right now but it keeps your hair super moist and super soft. It has green writing on the jar.

On days when I don't plan to wash my hair for a few days I will use the activator gel. It takes a lot longer to dry and my hair looks more wet with this gel until I wash it.

If I want to really define the curls and do a quick dry with a gel I will use the IC Fantasia Gel. I wash more often with this gel.

Try them out.

I need to post pics of my newly discovered gels in my hair.

IC Fantasia with sparkelites is da bomb! However, if u think it's a bit too heavy, use only a little on your damp hair.

You can also try Smooth-and-Shine gel (the pink one), it's a bit lighter than the IC Fantasia, but gives shine and definition the same way.

I know exactly what you're talking about.

Fantasia with Sparkles Lites is very good, there's no alcohol in it.

Citre Shine Curl Booster is off the hook! Got me through my summer transition. GL

I use fantasia IC sparkelites. My hair looks really shiny with it. I don't get as much frizz. The S-curl for waves and shortcuts works well on my hair. A leave in or just plain conditioner is a must when do shake and gos.

I've got to agree with the Curl Booster. I have discovered that Garnier Fructis Soft Curl Cream, used with Citre Shine Curl Booster gives my hair frizz-free definition and does not dry with a hard or crispy feel. I use the Fantasia gel w/Sparklelites also, but I don't like it for wash 'n go.

oh no not that garnier soft curl creme again! But seriously either that thing just DOES NOT work or I wasn't "activating" the product or using the right amt. My hair just felt "uh" after using it. Please explain to me how you use this product..
