Banana Clip Bun...(pics)

Hi Ladies,

I'm not sure if anyone has done this before, if so disregard. But I was playing around with my hair and here's the outcome. I just put my hair in a banana clip and took the ends and rolled/pinned it up and over (like a french roll) and tucked the ends behind the top of the banana clip. Since the pieces of my hair at the top were shorter I had to roll it over a little tighter and bobby pin it. I only used 2 bobby pins, one to keep the shorter hair up and the secure the ends of the hair behind the top of the banana clip.

As for the puff at the top of my hair, that was by default since I've never worn a banana clip and didn't know how to smooth it down.

I may wear my hair like this tonight, and will also play around with dividing the hair and rolling it up on both sides to cover both sides of the clip. I think you could even probably pin curl hair around the clip if you wanted a fancier look. I never knew the possibilites with this clip!! :spinning:

If you decide to try any of the forementioned, please post pics, as I'd love to see the outcome!!:yep: I may also try experimenting with the styles as well.

Enjoy the pics, and have a wonderful and safe New Year!!

Thanks and you should try it!! You have a lot more hair than I do (I'm scratching APL), so I'm anxious to see what it would look like. :lick:

Please post pics if you do!!

Wow...as many banana clips as I have invested in I NEVER thought about doing that. That hairstyle looks amazing on you. Your bun looks so thick and full. What a great style idea for 2011!

Thanks!! Yesterday was the first time I wore it. I'll definitely try it on a braid out and/or twist out. I've been sleeping on banana clips because I thought they were too flimsy, but I'll definitely be playing around with them more in the new year.

I really like that. I have banana clips but I don't wear them because my hair seems to get caught in the ends where the clips fasten. Once If figure out how to not tear my hair up, I will have to try it myself!

...For New Year's Eve, I wanted to do an updo, but since I am 6 weeks post texlax and never use heat, I dug out my banana clip. Here are a few pics from last night:

I do this all the time. I wore on to a debutante ball two nights ago. I just used bobby pins to cover the clip and looked like a full bun. It was quick, elegant and required no heat.

Sounds pretty, do you have pics? I'd like see what it looks like with the clip covered. I'm going to go and play around with it and post pics (depending on what it looks like).

This is darling! I've been looking for some quicker, updo type styles for when I havent put any type of curls in, and this is just lovely, I'm gonna try it...as soon as I find some banana clips!
The "puff" makes it look more chic to me also.
