The thread below is very old, but it has my regimen and pictures. It hasn't changed at all, except I don't wash or straighten my hair as much anymore. I've had several cuts and trims since that thread was created, and I bought a FHI flat iron since then.
I have really been slacking with the hair care this year. My hair just needs conditioning and to be left alone to grow. I used to wash and straighten it every week. Then it went to every 2 weeks. Now it's more like once a month. I will admit that after my baby, I went WAYYYY too long. I had bad shedding during pregnancy and it's still shedding pretty bad. After she was born, I didn't have 4 hours to commit to doing my hair, so I just left it in a ponytail or bun for weeks.
I wear it curly in the summer, but since I have to wet it every morning to get a decent look, I don't usually wear it that way in the winter months (I don't have time to dry it every morning, and I don't want to get sick from a wet head.)

The best advice I've read here was from Flowerhair. She basically said that you find what works for your hair, and then you just wait. It takes a long time to get your hair to longer lengths. At this point, I'm almost over the whole long hair thing. My daughter constantly pulls my hair, and it takes way too long to wash and straighten it. I can totally see why people get the "mom cut" after having children. I'm not going to cut it short just yet, but I have really been thinking about some highlights and a new layered cut.
