So sorry, I remember seeing many Maxiglide posts and skipping over them or not paying attention because I already had a flat iron and I really don't flat iron my hair much.
Seeing a post by ArmyQt using it on her and her daughter got my attention. Then seeing Babygirl's hair had me sold.
I cannot believe I am sitting here, suppose to be getting a touchup on Wednesday and my roots/new growth are still straight as hell.
I got this iron and didn't even really use it long. I went over my ends briefly, then i did 3 pieces of my roots.
In all it only took me like 15-20 mins. I used maxiglide LAST Monday Jan 16. My hair still is straight and still looks the same.
I haven't washed it cause it looks so good and i am getting touchup Wed.
I cannot believe this, now I am seriously seriously thinking about TRANSITIONING.
I probably would keep on stretching right now but I am going up to NY where my original hairdresser was and toucup only $30. Can't pass that up..lol

Okay..sorry just babbling, but I am happy and amazed at my hair after using this product.

Good lawd!!! I am soo grateful to the ladies of LHCF.
I would have never found the methods I did to grow and maintain my hair. My hair is the longest and healthiest its ever been since finding LHCF.
Thank u Ladies  LHCF

Glad to see you got a maxiglide too! It is worth every penny! No thanks required for the tips, girl! My pleasure. Your hair is looking good.

I too gave serious thoughts to transitioning once I got the maxiglide but I have been stretchng my relaxer and currently17 weeks as well. Although everything is going good my hair is sooooo darn thick. I'm stretching til Feb and then I will be back on a 3/4 month touch up schedule.

Sending you a pm....

I'm glad you got the Maxiglide, it is really worth it. I'm on month 3 of a 6 month stretch and I'll probably start using it around the 5th month to get my roots straight. When are you coming back from NY?

I just bought and used my Maxiglide today. If I had the product from one year ago, my hair would be pass bra-strap by now. I honestly believe I can make it to 3 maybe 4 months using Maxiglide alone. Sylver2 I think this product with make it easier to transition to natural.

Sylver and Ladies,
I feel so baddd now:confused:. I bought the maxiglide used it twice, and felt like it didn't work for my hair so I sold it on ebay. I just felt like it was too big to reach my new growth, which is really a big problem for me. Maybe I just didn't practice with it enough (I dunno). I bought it from Bed Bath & Beyond with a 20% coupon. So I really got a good deal. I'll hate to purchase it again. Maybe I'll get the miniglide. Sylver I said it before and I'll say it again your hair looks GORGEOUS....
Did you use the steam burst action for your new growth?

Thank u Lorraine. Your hair is beautiful!!
No I didn't use the steam on my new growth cause your not suppose to use the steam burst so close to the scalp. But the iron got right up to my new growth good. I held my hair straight up in the air while ironing it, so it can get to all places
Its tricky to maneuver that big old bulky iron, but once u do works wonders..lol

I am all thumbs and have used it twice without results like some of you ladies. I guess I'll try it again this weekend when I wash because I'm only 5 weeks post, but my roots are kicking like KARATE.

* Sylver2 did you use the plate with the teeth or without the teeth? I think I'll try no teeth this weekend.

Sylver,

All I can say is that your current regime works well on natural hair too! Either way I know you hair will look great. Glad you found a flat iron that you like because the right iron truly does make a difference. :)

For the Europeans like me who are interested in the MAXIGLIDE, I got this information from the Maxius web site:
Q: I am traveling internationally; will the MAXIglide switch voltages from 120V to 220V automatically?
A: The MINIGLIDE is dual voltage but the MAXIGLIDE is not. We will have the 220v MAXIGLIDE available in the near future.

If this works as well as everyone says (it gets rave reviews on Amazon.com too), I may be able to go natural. No more relaxers! :woot: :woot:

Sylver,

I am happy you found a good solution for your hair. I had to say that I just left your album and someone asked were you considering transitioning and you said no I am too addicted to the bone straight look. So now I see that Maxglide got you really hyped. Whatever you do your hair is beautiful. And you are taking excellent care of it.

Okay, I am sold on the Maxiglide. I was kind of on the fence about buying it because I didn't think I would use it that ofen, but seeing your hair at 17 weeks post relaxer did it for me. My last stretch was 16 weeks, but that was with wearing it in a bun. I will definitely be using the Maxiglide if it allows me to wear my hair down after stretching for 16-18 weeks.

You, Armyqt, Simplycee and some of my other hair inspirations here are making me consider a Maxiglide in the event I want to see my hair straight or straighten those roots when I'm stretching. I'm so glad I haven't bought a flat iron yet, your beautiful hair results at 17 weeks post (which I ) really opened up my eyes.

When I first read your other post, Sylver2 about your Maxiglide success, I wondered then if you might transition one day, especially since you've mastered stretching for such long periods of time. Maxiglide just might be the tool to make it easier. If you do transition, we will all be watching and learning (as we already do!)! Who knows, we all might transition!

YES SYLVER2, the maxiglide is the truth:woot: . SimplyeeC sold me on it last year with her photos and reviews. I love that steam boost. Even though I use it on occasion, when I do that's part of my secret weapon  (to non LHCFers) in getting the result I'm looking for. The maxi rocks. Don't want to sound like a broken record:violin:, but can I get a :woot: :woot:
Thanks for this thread Sylver2.

I may just have to break down and buy one too! The size is what's keeping me from running out and getting it. But at 17 weeks... you can't beat that with a stick!

BEAUTIFUL as always Sylver2! I stalk your album regularly:grin:

OT: And all this time I thought being a PJ only applied to shampoos and conditioners, etc. Nobody told me it applies to appliances too! Dang girl!
