I'm natural forever too!

1) I cut about 6 inches off of my hair when I did my BC, after growing my hair out for 2 years....I didn't do that to one day relax again

2) I have no idea about styling or caring for relaxed hair

3) I love curly hair - I wear curly weave, I wore spiral roller sets when I was relaxed so its just a preference for me!

No maam. I will never relax again. At this moment I have no interest in my hair ever being straight again. That may change, if it does I will flat iron it.

Lately, I've been getting the urge to relax. I know I won't got through with it, and I know that temporary desire comes from my laziness and annoyance with the current length of my hair. When my hair gets to an acceptable length (without stretching it), then I'll be okay. It's just difficult for me to find a flattering style (for my face) right now.

To answer the question, No, I'll never go back to relaxing. The chemicals were much too harsh on my hair and scalp.

I dunno. I'm not gonna lie, it's been challenging giving my hair proper attention with a 3 year old and I got one on the way...i don't know how that's gonna work. I neglect my hair enough as it is. I don't want to relax tho, I really like my natural hair it's just the time I have to manage. So I was thinking about relaxing but what is the point cause I know I would want to transition after a year or two. I know I would miss my hair. I think I would cut before I relaxed and that may be what I have to do. :ohwell:

I hope it's okay for me to answer, i'm not natural yet but i've been transitioning almost 27 months. I highly doubt I'll go back to a relaxer. I don't see the point tbh. I mean if I want straight hair I can still achieve that. This way I don't have to worry about harmful chemicals and the potentially burns on my scalp :)cry:). Also, I'm not exactly comfortable with relaxers from a social point, for myself at least.

Also, I figure that i have my textured hair for a reason.

Oh and ya'll got me into wigs so um i'll turn to that before.

me too, sometimes when i'm frustrated with my hair or I see some amazing relaxed hair, i'm like that would be nice. But i'd regret it so nope not going to do it.

They say never say never...well..how about a big phat HELL NAW NEVA that!! :lachen:

Honestly, I made the descision at the young age of 20 (on my Bday) while sitting in the salon chair getting relaxer slapped on my scalped that this would be the last relaxer in my life. Now, I've been without a relaxer for 8yrs. I do not have the urge to get a relaxer. Like others have chimed in, I do not miss the burned scalp and weeping burns - regardless of how well a job I did 'basing' my scalp :nono:

No, there's no point in relaxing for me.

1. I have sensitive skin and relaxers are too harsh
2. IMO natural hair is more versatile
3. I co-wash almost everyday (even when I was relaxed) and put my hair in a bun....so I don't need any chemicals for that
4. I like my natural texture better than when my hair was relaxed
5. I'm not skilled enough to relax my own hair w/o overlapping or missing spots, and there's no way I'm gonna pay someone $75 or more to put a $10 relaxer in my hair
6. I like to color my hair, and I don't want to over process
7. My hair is healthier natural

No, I will never relax my hair again. I've lived most of my life with my natural hair and that's the kind of hair I know how to take care of. I've only relaxed my hair twice, and that was it! :)

It doesn't even look good on me.

No I LOVE my natural hair. My hair can do any style a relaxed hair can do and so much more.

I try not to say never. So i'll have to say "I don't think so", because Relaxers kept making my edges disappear.....and I want to keep my edges.

I love my natural hair, but I loved my relaxed hair too. Relaxers are not on my mind these days, and that's good enough for me right now.

Nope, I'll never touch the creamy crack for two main reasons:
1. My hair is so much healthier now that it's natural
2. This is the way God created me, so why should I permanently alter my curl pattern to strive after a standard of beauty that says you should be light-skinned or pale, with huge, colored eyes, with a thin nose, and long, straight hair?

I also think never say never to an extent. But I really just can't see myself doing it again, I got what I want here, and if I really wanted straight hair on a regular basis it would be rollerset and flat iron every week. Plus a long face and straight hair aren't the greatest combo....

Never going back to relaxers. I only had a 2 year period in my life when i wore relaxers back in High school so i've pretty much been natural my entire life. As i've learned to take care of my hair through the many helpful threads on this board and reducing my ssk's and tangles with light heat stretching:look:, I see no reason why I should ever go back to relaxers.

Natural for life!

The fact that you're assuming people just relax their hair to "strive for a standard of beauty" makes you just as ignorant. Based on your siggy, 6 months ago you also had a relaxer in your hair so don't bash.

NOOOO!!! There is no way I could go back to worrying about breakage and counting the # of inches each month. I was so miserable when I was relaxed!

Um, maybe that was subconsciously a reason SHE relaxed her hair.
Maybe she personally knew others that relaxed her hair for that reason too.

And the whole hashtag thing is getting VERY old.

Here we go. ....I am so not surprised. We'll see how long this one lasts. People get all up in arms about questions that don't even apply to them. Yeah, I said it.
