Tried this once and I couldn't take the smell, even though it was mixed with conditioner. Did nothing for my hair.

It Always Been About Hair!

... and OMG. My hair has never felt so dry, tangled, and rough in my life.
I've heard of multiple people throwing in an egg for an extra shot of protein and getting wonderful results. My hair has never, for as long as I have been styling it (since age 11), felt this horrible.
My hair is not protein-sensitive at all, so this came as a huge surprise to me. My hair usually adores protein. I don't know what happened.
I had to do serious damage control with the tangles but I don't think, as far as I can see, that I will suffer too much of a setback from this
Has anyone else experienced this? Just wondering what could have possibly happened.
But after this, I am officially a card-carrying, due-paying member of Team If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It.

You're suppose to follow up anything w/ an egg with a moisture conditioner for @ least 45 mins.

I use egg + conditioner for protein all the time, but I always leave it on for an hour or less. I've never had any problems.

I used FusionOfCulture's Hair Smoothie two weeks ago and my hair felt amazing. The smoothie consists of:
  • Coconut milk
  • Avocado
  • Banana
  • Honey
  • Egg

Benefits

Bananas: enhance hair's strength and shine. Bananas are rich in natural oils and vitamins that help in softening the hair and protecting its natural elasticity helping to control split ends and breakage. Bananas are full of vitamins and is a number one ingredient for strengthening and volumizing the hair. It helps in repairing dry and sun-damaged hair. The vitamin B helps in the prevention of split ends. The type of hair that is suitable for this treatment are dry hair, dyed hair and for hair after perm. It also serves as an excellent treatment for addressing the problem of dandruff and is helpful in retaining moisture on your scalp.

Honey: is a natural humectant -- meaning it holds and retains water molecules. Humectants are very helpful in creating and maintaining proper moisture balance in hair strands.

Coconut milk: contains calcium, potassium, chloride, vitamin A and E. Coconut milk contains proteins, which strengthen hair and can help to minimize breakage. It also has properties which protect hair and scalp from UV rays. Using coconut milk for improving hair growth is another simple home remedy for hair loss that some claim to offer results. It serves to nourish the hair and promote the growth of new hair. In addition, it keeps the existing hair in a healthy condition.

Avocados: strengthen and fortify hair strands because they are rich in fatty acids and vitamins A, E, B and D.

Eggs: are naturally rich in vitamins A, D and E. Vitamin A increases sebum production which naturally oils dry hair and prevent dry scalp and the fatty acid in eggs make hair soft, shiny and manageable.
