strange relaxer experience....

I am just ending a 18 week stretch. I used the relaxer that i always used which was Dr. miracles regular formula. The relaxer seemed to be hard to mix this time around though, it took about twenty minutes to get it to the creamy consistency that its supposed to be before application. It seems slightly dry and pasty. I checked the box and it wasn't expired. I wondering if the perm was too cold or something, its been sitting on my window sill in the bathroom for about a week now. I live up north so its still in the 30s up here. My hair didn't fall out or anything but it doesn't seemed like it took that well, usually after a perm my hair is pretty stringy when its wet ,but my hair has the look of hair that had been relaxed maybe three weeks prior and then washed and deeped conditioned. no new growth but not really that straight either.? I think i may got a dud perm!

I think you may have too..Dr. Miracles products most of the things I've heard are more negative than positve about their products.. Just keep a close watch on your hair and do your regular washing and Dcing along with couple protein DC if you aren't protein sensitive.

i actually like their relaxers but after this ...i dont know , i think might have a new brand of relaxer , any recomendations?

IMO...I think it was just too cold or maybe a little water got in and weaken the relaxer. (I don't know much about chemicals so this is just my opinion.) Question is how does your hair feel? Is it soft, easy to comb, health, holding moisture? However if you looking for another brand I use Silk Elements with Shea Butter Mild. I really like it and its cheap. I don't relax bone straight.

Yeah sounds like a dud perm.

I got a dry & pasty relaxer before and I knew something wasn't right. I looked at the box and peeled off the price tag and sure enough it was an expired box. I threw that mess away. I had to run to Walmart with greased up hair to buy another relaxer.

Do you usually stretch that long? Once I started stretching, my hair never got that limp/string bone straight look and feel after a relaxer anymore.

I also recommend Silk Element(brown) Mild, although i only used it once and i diluted it down..my hair did not feel hard(it was very soft) or have that flat scalp look either:)perplexed), also my scalp did not burn one bit.

But anyway, i dont know whats up with your relaxer, maybe something did weaken it OR Maybe it was a bad batch???

I went to a salon once and when he went in the back to pull the new tub of relaxer off the shelf when he started to apply it he noticed that it was kind of hard and dry. I had brought my own anyway so he used mine because he said that was the way it was supposed to be.....creamy and smooth. I think you got one that had been sitting for a long time.
