I like the Curly Pudding, but I have found less expensive products that make my curls look better. When I wash and wear in the summer, I use a leave in and some other kind of gel that works better.

I love love the baby buttercream, its a good moisturizer.
I got the best twist out with curly pudding. I want to try Fantasia IC gel for my twist out. I find curly pudding expensive. I only got it coz of the BOGO.

Baby Buttercreme is great for coarse dry hair. I cant stand the strong smell of peppermint in the regular Buttercreme. Before you invest a great deal of money you can get a sample size at Ricky's NYC for a nominal fee.. If you dont live in NYC as I dont- I think you can get the smaller sizes from the website. The shipping fees are crazy though

I have the Curly Buttercreme, but haven't used it in a while because I'm so self conscious when I'm wearing it due to the smell!!! The pepperment is soooooo strong it's overwhelming, for me at least. It's a great moisturizer, but, in addition to the strong smell, it's a little too greasy for my tastes, which is another reason why it's currently collecting dust in my closet.

I recently got the Baby Buttercreme (didn't want the peppermint smell) and it is a great moisturizer for my dry winter hair. Love it. :yep:

I tried the curly pudding on my 3c/4a/4b hair and it made my hair look so pretty BUT my scalp started irritating, I got it from a friend and I don't know how long she had it. But it worked great for me and it don't take much, I also want to try the Baby buttercreame. Curlmart also offers the whole set in sample sizes for $38 you get 2oz. samples. But I still think it is too expensive and the ingredients are even all that great. But it worked good. My hair looked like it had been texturized LOL!!!!! I applied it to sopping wet hair.

I used the curly pudding on my sons hair and It is just okay. Even when he just gets out of the tub and his hair is squeaky clean I find it leaves a residue. (Looks like he has stuff in his hair) I tried it on him cause he's the only one thats natural besides my DH.

I totally agree, but i guess i'm one of the few that LOVES the smell of the curly pudding (imma big kid) and people are always sniffing me when i have it on. The jury is still out on whether or not the curly pudding is worth it (i just got out of extensions and need to give it a full try), but the buttercreme does lay edges down like nobody's business. And i'm not self concious about the minty smell b/c nobody complains when your breath smells like mint, so whats the diff? :lachen: And i also only use it at night b/f i tie my scarf.

So in closing, if you use something that works just as good already, dont bother, but if u still havent found your staple products and have money to spare, give it a try.

I love the smell of KCCC too, its a bit strong but tis still good. I think ms.jessie's is over rated though. My hair looks dull and feels DRYYYYYYYY with this in. I only bought it becuase fo the BOGO, but I hear they are coming out with new products so maybe those will be better.

I like buttercreme (original and baby) as welkl as the meringue though, but again if it wasn't for BOGO I wouldn't have them. Now KCCC, I can get with and for 25 bucks for 16oz! LOVE IT!

i brought some during the buy 1 get 1 free and the curly pudding did work in reducing shrinkage but i have to use it with HHB to strectch out the product and get the max results. it seems that the HHB helps weight my hair down since my hair likes to stick "outward" instead of "downward". my hair looks nice now and i am pleased with the result in combinding these 2 products.

the downside was if i use the pudding by itself i get horrible flakes. yuck!

i tried the meringue and hated it and its smell. it did nothing for my hair, so i gave that away.

i would like gto continue to use the curly pudding but that stuff is sooooo expensive unless it is on sale :nono:. i have 1 unopened jar left.

since tax return time is coming i think that will probably be the only time i will be stocking up since that is when i will extra money. :wallbash:

I love Miss jessies Baby Butercreme...I'm not too keen on the curly pudding, but there is a chance I did not appy or "shingle" my hair right when I used it.

I want to try the other brand, I think it's called Kinky-Curly Custard soooo badly. Everytime, I think to buy it, something always happens and I usually forget to purchase it.

I've heard of her but never used them because her products are to expensive....for that price there better be some ground up gold or diamonds in them!! Im sure someone has come up with a homemade or cheaper alternative thats just as good.

My personal experiences with Miss Jessie's products (12 months of usage):

Curly pudding, in short, sucks. The new and old formula makes me scalp itch, and I don't no why. I have written letters and have talked with Miko about my reaction. She was very kind and supportive. The smell is ok. Also leaves a nasty residue in my hair.

Curly Meringue, I LOOOOOVVVVEEE it. It makes my scalp/hair feel and look great. Miko sent me samples for my troubles. I have purchased this 4 times. The smell is not as strong as the pudding. My hair is still soft with curl definition.

Curly Buttercreme is the queen of all of their products hands down. It does everything they advertise.

I like both the Meringue and the Buttercreme. I had bought the 8 oz sizes in November or so and I used them all up. I had to buy the big size. The Curly Pudding did not work for me. :nono: It dried my hair up like a cottonball.

I just used curly pudding on my texlaxed hair for the first time 2 days ago. My hair looked great, no frizz, great curl definition, my best wash and go ever. The next day I sprayed my hair with a little water and added some baby buttercreme. My hair was soft and moisturized and looked great. It was dried out by the end of the second day, but I get that by day 3 whenever I air dry. I think that if you already have dry hair then curly pudding won't help with moisture, but it won't hurt anything either. The next time that I use it I may seal with oil after I apply it or mix it with baby buttercreme.

Well technically the CP is only for styling anyway. The buttercreme is supposed to be for moisture. So I've been layering the two.

I just discovered the wonderfulness that is Curly Buttercreme. I don't like the price but it did everything that it was supposed to do. I'm in love :drunk:

It works for me! However, the BOGO is the only time I will purchase. I am typically heavy-handed with my products. With Miss Jessie's a little goes a long way. I have 4B dense hair and all i need is a slight hold. I just "touch" the product and I get perfect results on my twists!

I also love all the scents of each product...

Oh I was an avid user of the MJ Curly Pudding and Meringue. Even went as far as getting the conditioner and Quick Curls (which I don't think is a viable option for ladies that have a type 4 Hair IMO)

I loved the smell, my hair drank the product like a lush and I was very happy with the results that I'd get when I used it.

However, that price tag kept me from re-uping on it when I ran out and kept me from using it as often whe I did have it.

I recently did a 2-strand twist using the following products: Giovani Leave-in spray, S-Curl, ORS Olive Oil and Eco Styler w/ Argan oil. - I got the same results without the scent!!!!

Now once I was done twisting I did have a lot of product on my hair - If this isn't something your hair likes then I wouldn't suggest it. (My hair likes heavy cream based stuff) It's pretty much non-existant after a day anyway becuause my hair has absorbed it all).

Now can this get messy? Yes.
Is it a lot of products? Yes
Is it cheaper? Yes
Same results? Yes

I'm sure there are other alternatives out there. You can even make your own. But does it work?

It did on my 4b Hair.
