Pressing babyhurrs for a neater look

Has anyone done this on either straight or with textured hair?
i mean using a hot comb but flat irons can apply too.

I use so much tension and product just to get my edges to look neat so i feel like i just will be exchanging one poison for another in terms of health.when straight my edges look better and act more obedient than if i was to use any gel/wax/pomade/scarf combo. ( If some one comes in here talking bout some "why dont you use gel n scarf method" imma get mad lol)FYI In not a fan of untamed edges and will not be changing my mind anytime soon. Lol

i think i might try it out for a little bit.

girllll you might as well lightly relax them, if they bother you that much...but you gonna have to really space out touch ups...

I mean if you press them they revert back riii??? :look:

If you gonna do that I hope you find away to keep them pressed,w/o having to redo everyday... dont want ya walking around with a head full of hair and bald eagle hairline:nono:

hmmm have you ever used bentonite clay?...I find that it smooths out hair temporarily and might work on your edges...you can also try them other "natural" relaxers...

i dont want them permanently straight but i do want them to last.ive relaxed my edges before and it was great until ng came in ugh. I just tried it. I just need to brush them down and tie the scarf and they lay perfect. I dont like always having to use product on my edges and if they dont set they look a HAM. I dont think the clay wiill help plus i dont want 2 spend more money......thats also another reason i havent relaxed them lol i can just press them for free instead of buying more stuff.

It seems your mind is already made up. So you may as well just do it. Be sure to protect your hair with serum and try not to do it everyday.
Here's to hoping not to see a thread titled, "help my edges are thining and won't grow!! :("

21 months natural and loving it!

Nope. Was about to tell you why don't you let your edges be great but read the second paragraph. Good luck.

I guess you don't need to hear that frequently applying heat to the most fragile hairs on your head probably isn't a good idea :ohwell:.......unless you've got those ultra thick hair strands that have the strength of iron bars. HHG!

my edges are already short and wont grow lol. I might as well have them looking on point. Since they are short they should be strong because they are constantly regrowing. I know how to use heat and my hairs limit so im not worried about trying this.i have done crazier....

there are numerous waxes & creams that keep edges straight after pressing so that u dont have to press daily.

stylists always apply on mine after doing my hair &my 4b natural edges stay straight

but im old school so i still use the same mens pomade to lay down my edges for the past 16yrs
