Ozma 2" may seem like a long time away because I am 3" away from bsl and seen forever to get there but I think if we stop thinking about it we will look up and be there.

it is now offical the top of my head is finally longer than the bottom of my head. I got 10-12" where the back is still a 9..... I am happy not sad because I love my hair being blunt so I see it will get there lol

it is just amazing how different we all are in terms of how many inches we have to have to get to a point of growth. So this should be a lesson when you see someone's hair and you talk about how long her hair is... just remember she may have the same inches of hair on her head as you and hers just look longer because of how her body is made.. that should put a smile on your face knowing that your hair is long too (smiles)

@Shadiyah I have ALWAYS thought that and have to constantly remind myself that someone else's journey to acertain length is always going to be different than mine. Outside of body structure (neck span, torso, etc.) there are too many OTHER varying factors to consider.

Hmmm...I really like this thread.

Anyway...measured an inch in from my nape area and at 10 inches I'm resting at APL, but at 11 inches I'm undoubtedly APL with wiggle room. 11-healthy-inches is what I am aiming for.

Oh..I am 5'7".

ETA:: I measured hair from root to tip (or what would be the tip) an inch in from my nape (wanted a more accurate account of what I needed in terms of length).

From all of you ladies help who me realize I have long hair lol..... long hair in the shower that I can touch from behind yyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaa...... curly or straight your hair is long!!!!

well I just put on a bra and I counted the count down as to how many inches of hair I would have to have at the nape of my hair to be brastrap and the number is .... 12" and I am 9" I really hope this castor oil do something for me in terms of growth because I can already see what it is doing other wise for my hair.

Nope! 9 inches won't really get me to APL. I suppose I could claim it, but it makes me uncomfortable. I think 11 solid or 12 will do the trick. Maybe...

For me, I have to have the freedom to move my head any which way and still appear at least APL (meaning if I bend my chin towards my chest I don't think I should appear to be at shoulder length before my chin touches the bottom of my neck). Those are just my personal thoughts, though.

I'm almost 5'10, but I don't think it matters so much. I have a short torso (it's the same length as my friend who is just barely 5'7!)

EtherealEnigma so you are talking about from the nape of your neck right? wow if you are because 12" is past my bra strap but I think I get what you mean you want to claim it unstretched?

I just want more than half of my hair to reach APL before claiming it.
My hair is cornrowed now, but the nape and an inch or two above it are just barely scraping APL. When the hair above my ears gets to APL I will claim it. I think I have about 2.5 more inches to go.

OMG I have 11.5 inches of hair so hopefully after my next relaxer after this 16 week stretch, I will be hoping to be APL.

I had to look back and find this because I know you all not going to believe this without pictures but sorry can't show them to you. There is something about this castor oil and must be my summer growth spurt.
well the great news is that I have 12" of hair.... I couldn't believe it and I had to have my daughter come and measure just to make sure I was doing it right. I was brushing my hair to do my 3 plaits so I could pull them up and plait them together and put my bendini clip on... love these things. and I was stretching my arms longer than I normally do so I got the measuring tape and there it was. I miss my curls but I have to keep doing what I am doing just so I can see what happens at the end of the summer lol
