APHOGEE BURNED SCALP!

My mom (who has a curl) is having HORRIBLE hair breakage, you touch her hair and it falls out, she recently tried the aphogee treatment (the keratin protein one not the major one) and it BURNED HER SCALP like a relaxer or something!! Has anyone else experienced this? So needless to say, she needs try something else, but please, nothing too expensive. She refused to buy anything too expensive and I just can't talk her in to it. So please help. A good relatively cheap protein conditoiner that helps stop brekage?

Quick question, has her scalp been irritated before she applied the treatment (ie. she's been scratching it b/c it itched)?

An experience like this one is why I dumped my curl years ago. The hairdresser left the chemical on too long and my hair just kinda "drifted away." I did the Aphogee treatments and everything else. What worked was getting the damaged hair cut off (Most of it). The fall out stopped and I grew a healthy head of hair. If her hair has been damaged, no amount of treatment will stop it from falling out. Tell her to get a cute bob cut and make a fashion statement until it grows back.

I don't know of anything in-expensive that would help. Nexxus Emergencee is NOT cheap, but it sounds like her breakage is so severe that this would be the only thing to help.

Emergencee actually wraps protective fibers around the hair strands and re-structures the hair on the inside and the outside.

Wow

i am so sorry to hear about her experience, that must be very frustrating. I am not sure about a conditioner that would help with her breakage, but a relatively inexpensive conditioner would be something like one of the Queen Helen type of conditioners that come in a jar. I wish her luck

Sorry to hear about that, but it is a very concentrated treatment and I'm guessing she had a few lacerations on her scalp before she used it. I use Hawaiian Silky's Dry Hair Conditioner Proteinized Hair Perservative from time to time. It comes in a 16oz jar and it is thick and creamy(no burns). Good luck!

I've never had a curl, but i do know that when your hair gets damaged by a curl the only thing that you can do to get rid of the damage is stop using the chemicals and CUT THE CURL OUT OF YOUR HEAD

If she has serious burns she may want to see a dermatologist to make sure no permanent damage was done to her scalp.I hope she is okay.

No, it was not serious. She felt it burning, but I don't think that she experienced any actual burns on her scalp later. Thanks for your help and concern guys!
