Hey guys, i just finished installing some long thick yarn braids. I'm SO happy with the results so i thought i'd share with you the silly pics i took with photobooth:grin::grin::grin:. I used 6/5 strands of Red Heart Super Saver Yarn for each braid.

Can you moisturize your hair with no problem? I really want some pigtails but I can't let my hair hang out loose like that.

:yep: My hair tends to hold onto moisture really well in yarn braids. I spray them every other day with a glycerine/water mix, S Curl or some other braid spray.

Thanks! It took about 10 hours over the course of 2 days.

That's it?! I would have thought it have taken you much longer (like 16 hours). You must be really good at braiding, or I am just not that good. I've done about BSL braids that took 12 hours at my quickest. Looks great on you!

thanks. can this style withstand washing?
We'll see. When i wear 3 strand apl/bsl yarn braids i wash my hair every 2 weeks (It takes forever to dry). I think maybe i try to wash these every 3 weeks. I doubt i'll wash the length of the braids. I'll probably tie the braids up in four loose buns and just lather up the roots. Afterwards i spray with infusium and braid spray and a little oil mix to seal. I've never had a problem with washing yarn braids. My hair is 4b/4c and a few inches past cbl. I don't blow dry my hair before i braid, only stretch by braiding of twisting.

These are so pretty! I have been stalking youtube vids trying to decide between long braids or twists.
PoisedNPolished i really wanted to do long twists with synthetic hair, but i couldn't get the air i normally use without paying huge shipping costs. I love that the yarn is so inexpensive. The only thing i don't like about yarn braids is the take down. That's why i'm keeping these in as long as possible.:yep:
