If you are 4a/b, how do you press your hair?

Please describe the method and products used. Do you use a ceramic iron? Do you have pictures?

My stylist who has pressed my hair a couple of times would...

1.Wash/condition my hair
2.Deep condition under dryer
3.Wash out conditioner and seal in moisture
4.Detangle with detangling comb
5.Blow dry semi straight
6.Use hot comb for edges
7.Use flat iron to finish the look, straightening the hair and slightly bumping under the ends

She does a great job but I've always felt like I couldn't do it myself...so scared! But I'm ready to try!

I'm not sure about the hair type thing but my daughter has thick hair w/ lots of shrinkage,@ that time I would poo w/ what ever was under counter, deep cond w/ lekair(orange) and cond w/ whatever was under counter. Can't remember if I used leave-ins then, anyway I would put some Wild growth oil on the hair and plait in lots of sections to air dry than next day, I would warm comb the hair( not letting the comb stay on the stove long) and run thru hair making sure the round part of the comb is laying on the hair ,since that is whats suppose to be making it straight(so I've been told) Hope I'm making since. But the WG oil makes you not have to do a hard press and it says it on the bottle(or @ least the old bottle did) Not sure about using any other oil, but I like the results the WGO gave and w/o letting the comb get real hot on the stove. Hope this helps. If you do it yourself just be sure to have large mirror sitting in front of you so you can take a look @ how close you getting to the scalp. But I recommend the oil so you don't have to heat your comb so hot and if you do happen to touch the scalp it won't burn to bad nor burn the hair. Oh forgot to add that once you take comb off the stove be sure to wipe it over a cloth just to be sure it aint too hot so it don't burn the hair. Good Luck!
