Well maybe its just me =P I get headaches when I leave conditioners on for a long time. It's more of a throbbing scalp sensation. What does this mean. Obviously take it out your head already lol but why does this happen.
I thought it was a protein thing but nope im using a HE conditioner with no protein.

This happens to me as well, mainly when I deep condition over night with a shower cap or plastic wrap on my head. I always assumed it had something to do with the heat/sweating...

Hmmm... I can't recall this ever happening to me and I've baggied/deep conditioned overnight a LOT.

What kind of conditioners are you ladies using? I pretty much stick to more natural brands and am now wondering whether using natural/non-natural products has anything to do with it... :scratchch

You may be allergic to the ingredients; particularly the chemicals and scent of the conditioner.

woah... does this happen with all your conditioners?

That would freak me out. I dont recall this happening to me. You should experiment with different brands (and if you think it is a chemical thing... stop using it!!)

I keep my hair drenched in conditioner and it is the only thing that keeps it moisturized, but I never put in on my scalp or roots. The same applies to oils. Oils can make my scalp either itchy or sore. If I put conditioner on my scalp, as soon as I am sweating or after a few days my scalp gets itchy. My roots are always soft without conditioner too, being so close to the scalp. Not sure, maybe your scalp is like mine?

Over the years I've learned that if I fall asleep with a wet/damp head I will wake up with what I feel is a sinus headache. I will get a scratchy throat too. I've always been that way. I just can't do the wet head thing.

I would get a small headache, too. I stopped putting DCs at my root and then i could DC overnight and etc. as long as I wanted too. My roots and scalp feel better as well.

Is your head otherwise naked? As in, no shower/heat cap or towel? This happens to me if I wrap a towel around my head to tightly or if it's a regular sized towel and it's too heavy.

It has also happened to me before when I had a heating cap on my head but had not been drinking enough water that day...I got dehydrated.

I haven't had this problem since I got a twisty turbie and use it with a plastic baggie.

It would be weird if it was just causing the conditioner you to feel this way *scratches head*

this happens to me also, I thought it was the protein conditioner but it happens when I overnight with the AO conditioner, but I'm a migraine sufferer so almost anything can give me a slight headache, but I thought I was the only one.
