BIG hair rather then long hair

Another "greedy" one here - I want both, I want it all!:eat:

Even when I straighten my hair eventually, I wont make it bone, silky straight. I need some body.

I love my big hair! I straightened it yesterday and ended up looking like a big Rudy Huxtable! Today I Caruso curled the ends so I could still keep the length but it shrunk up and was just BIG! It is very awesome but I would like for it to be longer...

Honestly rather length..Never was a fan of big hair makes me think of the 80s...but it was monstrous then with all the teasing... I know my hair will get bigger with length, by then I think I'll feel totally different about it.

As my hair gets longer, I realize it'll be more difficult to straighten it in the future. Plus, I don't straighten often so I won't see length. I'm really more concerned with thickness and bigness! I want my hair to make Diana Ross's (weave) hair weep.

I want both and the option to play them up or down as I wish!

I think having options is what makes it wonderful to be a women.... When my hair was shorter..it was still big...so I like both

I like thick looking hair but not necesarily big hair. I think too much volume is not flattering on me(round face).i thinki big hair looks best on people who have long/skinny faces like tracy ellis ross.

i LOVE big hair. i see women with waist length wispy hair...not referring to this forum:look:...and i'd rather stay at BSL with my thickness any day. my bun is like 4 times the size of theirs so to me thickness can offer more styling options than length at times. i know folks of other ethnic groups that can grow their hair out like *that* but don't b/c the hair lacks volume so length wouldn't really help. that's part of the reason i went natural. i had BSL relaxed hair that was reasonably thick but i would get bored to tears at times. putting in all that effort for it to have body and fullness that would last more than one day seemed silly when i could just grow my own kinks out :)

don't get me wrong i want length but i want the versatility that my naturally big hair provides as well.

both are possible and yes its possible with a relaxer, relaxed heads can have big hair too (maybe not as big as naturals though)

my hair is naturally thick so with length comes "big-ness" if that makes sense. now that my hair is BSL its not as big as is used to be compared to when it was almost WL

ive already posted this pic in one of the relaxed threads but it proves the point

NYE side boob.
i have fine hair, so the longer it gets, it doesn't necessarily appear thicker.
I have to pull out my bag of tricks to help my hair appear thicker lol.
My goal is really versatile, sexy healthy hair at any length that is easiest for me to maintain. If it doesn't look full enough when it gets longer, I'll cut it.

I trimmed a few inches and my hair was instantly thicker. I am pretty happy with it right now, but I do miss the length.

I would rather focus on length because as my fine, medium to thin density hair grows or gets longer, it looks thicker. I can't change my genetics so why want for something that I'm not going to have. Plus big hair does not go along with my face and features. I love long hair! :yep:

I prefer big hair. Its the main reason I became natural. But to get big hair of my dreams my hair must be long.

Same here! :yep: When I was relaxed I either had to do bantu knot-outs, some kind of style with lots of curls, wait about 8 weeks for some good volume, or sometimes it would look a little thicker just on a whim.

This is my goal too. Funnily enough, when I joined on here there were a lot of relaxed heads with beautiful thick hair that were at least bra-strap, and the way my hair is growing and filling out- I think its achievable even for a fine haired, coloured relaxed head.

unless i wear my hair straight big hair is all i will have because of mucho shrinkage! i'm focusing on hair health and then length.

I say both and it's not hard for me lol! It's harder to get thin hair than big hair for me as a natural, and with my length now I'd want that to show too.

I'm in the minority. I like big natural hair but just not on me. Shame, because my hair is hella thick/dense and I wish I had less volume. I want my twist outs and braids outs to hang more and be less thick. I'm all for length.

As I get older, I find myself intrigued with bigger/thicker hair that is situated on my shoulders or shorter.

I'd take big thick shoulder length hair over thin waist length hair any day.

I hate it when people have like one strand of hair that goes to their behind and they be swangin that one strand like its the best thing ever.... :nono:

I am greedy!!I have both LOL.. But it took me a lot of work and still does..

I've got 3b hair.. And because i bleach it it can turn into one big problem.. So a lot of repair (aphogee 2 step treatment) and moisture (aubrey honeysuckle) in combination with leave in ( miss jessies creme de la creme) helps me to manage my hair.. Otherwise it just breaks off big time!!
