I am relaxing with this on Monday or Tuesday. And I am veeeeeeerrry nervous about it coming out too straight/lifeless

How long should I keep the relaxer in-after I am finished applicating? I plan on relaxing my back and top area-the most coarse area, smoothing with my fingers, then applying to my sides and nape. I was thinking of leaving it in for about 5-10 minutes. Do you think that is too long? How long should I leave it in??

LOL...I was thinking something similar like "how do you think you'll be able to leave it on?"

On the serious side, my mother has extremely wiry, resistant hair and she leaves hers on for about 17-20 minutes...it seemed like I always had to rinse mine out almost as soon as I got it in good except for the one time that I think I got an old tub.

Good luck with the Bantu! Let us know how it turns out!

My hair is VERY resistant. Bantu had my hair the straightest it has ever been (Even though I am still underprocessed). I strongly suggest you relax your hair in sections, maybe do the back one day, and do the front a couple of days later.

Okay, I am seriously getting cold feet. I might go ahead and buy Elasta QP's Lye relaxer.

What if I don't work fast enough lol... Of course I will dilute it with a cheapie condish, shoot I ain't wasting no more money, I am going to try it with a fully based scalp and adding some cheapie condish to it. Imma make it do what it do.

You sure can. Well I have two reasons one being now that I stretch my relaxer and cut off heat my newgrowth is more resistent. The coils are VERY tight. My second reason is I think my hair is harder to relax due to protein treats and biotin+other vitamins. My old relaxer just doesn't cut it. So I thought I mines well give Bantu a try. Plus it's cheaper than Mizani and more readily available.

the same thing happened to me. I could not figure out why my hair would not straighten anymore. Even Mizani would not get my hair straight. Bantu works well for me.
