Aubrey Organics GPB, it's about all the protein my hair can take. Intensive protein treatments make my hair HARD.

Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment has a plant protein, from quinoa in it. I also use coconut oil regularly, which prevents protein loss.

I only use protein if I am having severe breakage and shedding. When my hair was pretty damaged I would use Aphogee every 4-6 weeks. I also like MT but can't say if it's a good protein for my hair. Anytime I used it I ended up with protein overload.

I like the way Aphogee works but hate the smell, the fact that it's runny, and it kind of burns and stings my scalp and skin. It even melted through latex gloves. Not sure if I had a bad batch cause I asked if anyone else experienced this, but unfortunately I got no responses.

Geminigirl : i had no.answer if anyone experienced this éther.it burnt and stung.my scalp but no problem with breakage. It burns face too. That thing is fire or What? But works so Well. I hate the smell though...hubby says "the whole house stinks with your product "lol

well then, either we got bad batches or else this IS what the product does. It burns everything it touches. It's like acid. That's why I stopped using it because I thought it must have tons of chemicals in it. It ate through my yellow latex gloves. I bought them specifically for applying this acid and overtime the gloves deteriorated. Doesn't seem like something i need on my hair at all. That's why I switched to MT but that stuff is too strong or something. I always get protein overload with it.

Aubrey Organics Blue Green Algae Conditioning Mask is the best protein treatment I've ever used. It leaves my hair feeling fluffy and strong.

I use hydrolyzed keratin that I dilute with water. I spray it on after I wash, but before I dc and then I spray a bit more before I moisturize, seal and baggy.

I'm so happy I found this topic. I just got my weave removed the other day and the girl who did it, suggested a protein treatment because of some damages. I'll be trying out Nutress.

I can't choose just one, I tend to rotate because my hair loves all types of protein
(listed in no particular order):

Aphogee 2-step (Hydrolyzed Animal Protein)
Duo-Tex (Hydrolyzed Collagen)
DRC-28 (Hydrolyzed Animal Protein)
AO GPB (Milk Protein)
Dudley's Cream Protein (Hydrolyzed Animal Protein)
Lamaur Bone Marrow (Hydrolyzed Collagen)
Sabastian Penetraitt Reconstructor (Soy Protein)
Doctor Cabello (Wheat, Milk, Oat, Silk & Keratine Protein)

Right now it's fresh Eggs (2) but I am feeling like I need to add a Light Protein to my wash weekly. I did do a Protein treatment last week, and my breakage has ceased. I want it to stay that way though.
