I am so curious about skin wefts. Who's using them and how are you liking them? Are you installing it with bonding glue or can you sew through it?

I have seen black celebrities getting these at the salon (I live in LA). They just tape them in, and go. They look great, very natural, because you have no added bulk.

I am currently looking into buying some from Extensions Plus...theirs are called Micro Tabs. As my hair grows longer and thicker, my cornrows are getting bulkier under my sew-ins. I would like to use the tape wefts at least in the front, for a smoother look.

mstar this is what has me sold. I hate not having access to my scalp and having that lumps and bumps and discomfort of a sew in. I'm starting to really want this. Have you seen these people have them removed?

I'd be worried that it would make my hair break. They should make one where the glue is a kind of conditioner that works its way down the hair shaft.

i think they are an easy way to get that ful sewn-in look and are convienient...buttttttt

the removal process is no joke--if you are rocking your skin wefts for 2-3 months or lets say you went in water or just them being in everyday---the removal process will be different since they are in for a long period of time--

also anything that is an adhesive has the ability to rip hair out...so something to think about
anything sticky that has been stuck together for a long period of time--a week a month maybe slightly different removing than the video presented--
in the video he put them in and rmeoved them in the same time frame..so ofcourse it appeared easy

Tricking the president
http://youtu.be/MuQYx6pJMDE It took several long videos but I found one that clearly showed the removal process and it looks like these extensions are indeed not damaging.

but he literally put them on and removed them in the span on 30 seconds. Translate thatto hair thats been taped for 2 to 3 months, i dont see it coming out just as easy. Not to mention what on earth is in that removal gel that he used? That may contain ingredients that are damaging to the hair. This looks like a cool method but I'm gonna need people on the front line to report back

I have the equipment to do this method but I haven't tried it on anyone yet. I"m going to get a friend to try and and model it in pics for me. Like all extensions, I'm sure if your're careful the removal process will not be damaging but you have to know what you're doing. Plus make sure your hair agrees w/ the extension hair b/c by your hair being loose, rubbing against the extension, it could break off. Some people do fine out while others need their hair braided away. I've seen hair disappear from being left inbetween tracks and that's essential what's being done with this method. So just be cautious and test out a small area for a few weeks before you try this on your entire head.

Thats true, the glue didn't have time to really dry. It sure would be nice if it could be removed that easily. perfect28 you got me nervous about the removal now. @toinette I would think the ingredients would be similar to that stuff thats for taking off bonded lace wigs.

@kandegirl Which makes me wonder. Can a person's hair be braided down and netted with these type of extentions being glued that way. I love how natural this method looks but if anyone's hair would break mine would. I know a few that do their quickweaves with their hair braided down with a stocking cap over that. I wonder if that would work. What do you think?

This looks interesting bit it's pricey for a 6 week style.

I'm not too surprised. I expected high prices. The hair is cheaper at Senghori Shells tho.

CurlsBazillion, you can give it a try just braid your hair horizontally (like the rapper Xzibit) and place the extension vertically. I imagine they should stick and you have room to insert as many tracks as you need to make it thicker.

No update. Out of fear of breakage I stuck to lace wigs. I can't take chances like that right now. Since I have thin hair this still may be an option for me to add some density to my hair once I reach my goals.

So do you keep your hair down and apply this on top of it ? And it doesn't come off during washes ?how do you care for your hair ?

I watched a video and they use adhesive to "tape" the hair to your hair. It looks like that could be damaging. Even though they did say it could last up to 2-3 months.

This is the video I watched.

Kindheart, sorry only answered one part of your question before. Here is a video of the process.
I saw kim kimble do it on her show to a caucasian girl because her hair was too short and weak to handle a sew in.
