Agree or disagree?

Friend: "Nobody is going to be all in your follicles and ends so a blunt cut can deceive anyone into thinking that that person has 'healthy' hair."

This got me thinking. Those with a blunt cut with/for uniform thickness is usually praised for "healthy hair" ... but is it? Damage can happen anywhere along the strands. A new start doesn't necessarily mean healthy hair. What is your take on her comment?

I agree that you can have unhealthy strands whether you have a blunt cut or a V shape. You can tell by the dullness, roughness, etc. As long as they are doing what they need to do to get it healthy, its all good.

A blunt cut and a nice shine serum can give you the look of healthy hair but its not healthy if its not takin care of.

Well any hair whether blunt or can be damaged. If you abuse Heat on the regular, damage is inevitable.

The question confuses me, bc a nice blunt cut would probably remedy damaged ends.
But good styling can camoflauge damage, yes.

^:lol:....to answer the question i think blunt ends (just like darker hair), always looks healthier, but that doesn't mean it is....sometimes these things just help appearance but nothing else.

What are u not getting? I didn't say u were out for her but I know how u feel about her and her hair. You've made it obvious in several Ateya threads. You were in that thread and this thread was started after that one. I'm just saying that's how it looked to me- a spin off. I know I'm not the only one who thought that although it could be a coincidence. If I'm wrong then ok-my bad. I'm still standing:)

Blunt ends definately give the appearance of healthy hair because the ends dont look straggly.

But if someones hair is cut blunt and it still looks really thin and whispy... then the blunt cut doesn't help. I've seen that happen to people. Lets say they are APL and they to cut shoulder length with a blunt cut and their hair still doesn't look better and then they end up having to cut even shorter or just cut it all off.

I think you're delusional. I have no idea where those "several" Ateya threads are that I supposedly all commented in but I commented in that ONE. No one was thinking about that thread when this one was made. Chill out. Get out of your feelings. Yeah, your bad.

I agree.....my hair is currently blunt and i've gotten several comments on ow healthy my hair looks, but up close, I can see the splits/damage. It does look way better than it did pre lhcf, but I know I have a long way to go pertaining to health

I think blunt ends look healthy if your hair is pretty much the same thickness from root to end. It doesn't look great if some of your hair is shorter and sort of layered.

I really thought ya'll were playin'. I thought it was cute banter. I was laughing until it started to go "there". Sigh..........

I think blunt ends can be deceptive. It can make unhealthy hair look healthier and thicker. Blunt ends on healthy hair looks amazing.

I am now cause this is crazy. All I really was saying is it's funny how this thread was started after that other one. I mean it could have been a coincidence. She could have just said no that wasn't her intentions or something instead she said "Don't reach"

I agree...when I used to bump my ends w/ a flatiron or comb out my wrap and wear my hair down people would comment how good my hair looked and say it looks thick and like a wig....even though I had an ate up middle spot in back covered up:lachen:It didn't matter if I had blunt cut ends or not so maybe it depends on your hair.
