I am looking for a flat iron and I was considering purchasing this one. I've read the reviews but they vary a lot. I was wondering if any of you ladies had experience with this iron or the Solia brand in general. I typically use the flat iron just for newgrowth and bangs which is why I prefer the 1 inch size.

If you have other brands or suggestions feel free to mention those as well!

Thanks everyone!

I have a Solia. Not that particular pink one but the regular black one with blue plates. I think I purchased it in 2008 and it has been working fine every since. I like the swivel cord and it gets hot enough. Just be careful to figure out the right heat setting. 370 works for me...probably lower but I think the lowest I can go is 350 or else my hair is puffy.

The heat distributes evenly and it gets hot very fast. Love it, and the size is good for curling as you flat iron so you don't have to redo it. Good luck!

I have a Solia as well. I've had it for a few of years now and its been great. I've owned a maxiglide and have used a sedu and I prefer the solia.

I love it. Straightens my natural 4b/4c hair rather well. And that's a good deal hun. Go for it.

lovebug10 - I've used mine for about 2 years. I still like it, but I've started using the Andis tourmaline with the curved edge because it makes great flips and curls.

I have the pink solia from 2008... I had a sedu first but I broke it or something and got the solia becauseit was cheaper. I wish I had paid the money and gotten another sedu because I like it better.

I have used the solia on my relaxed... Then texlaxed and now natural hair. It's "okay." I don't straighten my hair often so I have yet to buy a sedu...

I have the pink Solia; previously a Amika and a Maxiglide.

Its decent. It gets my hair straight and is sturdy.

Yay I'm glad to see so many positive reviews. I rarely straighten my hair. This is actually my first flat iron. My bangs frizz up and get poofy so I need something to make them sleek :) I can't wait until my order comes!

I have one. Used it on my 1 year post relaxer hair and it got my hair silky straight. My roots stayed pretty straight 2-3 weeks and reverted fully with no damage at my next wash. I'd
Recommend this iron.

I LOVE SOLIA.COM!

I got my package earlier today. I was in a nap so I'm not sure the exact time it came but it was about a 24 hour turn around time from my order. I'm very impressed. The iron is cute and pink which I LOVE. And it has springy plates which I think are called moveable or floating plates. If I had known that the turn around time was gonna be so quick I wouldn't have put my hair in a PS for a week. I will be sure to review when I use it for the first time! As of right now I am a very happy customer.

I love my solia and I have had it for at around 6 years. In fact, I like it better than this chi flat iron that I bought. I have the 1 inch flat iron. It is very dependable!!

I'm sorry it burned your hair... maybe it was the temp or the heat protectant you were using? Hopefully my hair doesn't get too fried.

I didn't like the Solia (I had the 1.25 inch in purple). The plates don't meet completely without applying extra pressure. So you have to keep going over each section. I'm super disappointed because now I have to pay to send it back.
