Frizz Solution for Curlformers

My daughter who is natural will be going to a cheer competition this weekend. Of Course they want everyone's hair the same in one ponytail with spiral curls. OK I know that I can achieve this look with my curlformers. The problem is in the past when I do her hair this way by the end of her cheering she's a frizzy mess! I've recently discovered lottabody setting lotion and have used it on myself with good results so I will be trying it on her but I feel like I need something to hold the curl for the entire length of time, thankfully this will be indoors this time so the weather shouldn't be an issue.

I'm also thinking about blow drying her hair for length and then spritzing and using the curlformer anyone ever tried this? Is it an unnecessary step?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Ive thought about doing this, sounds like it would work.... if your not worried about using direct heat

I used Shea Moistures hold and shine spray to keep the curls from dropping.

Bump any other suggestions ladies I need to make this happen by tomorrow!

Maybe you should set her hair tonight, pin curl for her to sleep, tighter curls that won't drop tomorrow. Day 1 curl former sets always droop on me but with over night pin curls, they last for days

I saw this YT'er use Eco Styler Gel for her curlformer curls. She is natural, and it turned out beautifully. HTH
