I'm about to order my seamless combs. I was thinking about getting the jumbo rake and the HS6450 tail comb. From those of you who have experience with these combs, would this be sufficient? I'm looking to replace my Denman and I'm hoping this will do the trick. Or should I try the HS696W with the rake instead?

Thoughts???

I got the magic rake set, lady star and 6450. I haven't tried the 6450 as I plan to use that for rollersetting. The others I love.

I got the rake and I loved it for my natural hair but I switched to finger combing shortly after I got it. My comb needs are completely covered with either my tail comb or two sided hair cutting comb for roller sets and their styling comb covers everything else http://www.hotcombs.net/hs5580-styler-comb/

I rarely even use the rake but it would be great if you're looking for something to detangle natural hair.

I have the jumbo rake comb and it has served me well during my transition. I have a comb similar to the HS696W that I found locally and I use it sometimes for smaller sections. I love my seamless rake comb and use it every wash day. I bring it into the shower with me and detangle with it under running water.

its a hard plastic.....

if I go 3 weeks more in to my stretch I'm sure I could break it.....lol

I have the jumbo rake and your alternate option. I love them both, though I use the smaller comb more often. My hair is texlaxed and fine, though.

I have the rake, the styling comb, and the two sided one. I love them all, but I don't use the two sided one. I get everything I need from the other two.

Love the rake. They are so gentle. I have the jumbo and mini. I will get a medium sized one next to really get at those shed hairs.

Enjoy your purchase!

TiaBia Thanks for the heads up, I just purchased the Magic Super Star Rake Set Curve along with the Magic Lady Star Comb, HS7370 Contour Comb, HS5240 Cutting Comb w/Sectioning Pick and the HS600 Gents Grooming Comb and saved 20% I' can now throw out all my other combs .

I recently purchased the straight jumbo rake and used it for the first time yesterday, I loved that I hardly lost any hair whilst detangling but I want to compare with the curved one, the website I ordered the first one from states the curved one as being for afro hair. I'll keep the jumbo I prefer and give the other one to my mum.

Wow Rozlewis! You have a grip! lol How do you compare the magic star rake to the magic star curve?

I think the biggest difference is the teeth of the curved comb are curved. I find that this is helpful if your hair is straightened and you have layers. The curve of the comb helps to feather the layers easier. Other than that no real difference in my opinion. It is the same exact comb except the ends are curved. I hope that helps.

I know! What happened to the extra 20%?!?!?!?! I thought it was thru today?? :crying3:

Aww sorry you missed it. It ended at midnight today.

I also want to say that hotcombs.net has excellent customer service, I placed an order during the sale and then changed my mind because of judy4all 's review of the magic lady star, I didn't feel the need for 2 seperate combs for phase 2 and 3 of the 3comb smooth method when the lady star had them combined in one comb.

Anyway, I emailed after I had placed my order to see if I could modify, not even expecting to still be able to use my discount come Monday (since it was a weekend).

They responded to me very promptly on Monday and acknowledged that the sale was over, cancelled my order and said I could re-place my order and they created a seperate sale code for me since my original order was placed during the sale.

Thought I'd share as I appreciate excellent customer service.

Oh I also got the HS6450 tail comb and already own the magic jumbo rake which I love!

Anybody with feedback on the HS combs??? bumpity bump...

MsAminta I journal about a few combs that I like on my LHCF blog. Hope the info can help you in some way. I love my all of my combs -- magic rake, hair sense bone comb and the others I mention. I don't use my Ouidad as much but will whip it out when necessary.
