I dyed my hair blue!

I don't normally post in the hair section (I'm always in the Nail Fanatics forum), but I was too excited and wanted to share. I also straightened and had my mom cut about 3 inches. I've kind of given up on having completely even hair because no matter what, my hair grows in a "W" shape. I

For the longest I've wanted to dye my hair blue, but I'd been too chicken to bleach.

A couple months ago I decided to do a small section of my hair and dyed it purple. It was okay, but it wasn't the color I wanted, so I let it fade. Now it's blue like I've always wanted. I used Manic Panic Rockabilly Blue. I have to say that this one stained the crap out of everything.

OMG I wish I had your nerve! I want to do something funky to my hair like this. My friend dyed the front of her hair purpleish burgundyish and I love it. I am mad that she chose that color cause that was what I was leaning towards but I refuse to copy hahahaha...

I'm natural. What has really helped me retain is cowashing and bunning. I also only detangle when my hair is wet. I don't even try to detangle when my hair is dry. Balancing protein and moisture is also important for me since I cowash.

OMG I love that shade of blue against the black!!!! GORGEOUS!!!! Loving your length too lady!

I sooooooo want some color (I wanted a dark turquoise patch or dark auburn/gold highlights) but I'm so afraid of bleach. I had a bad experience with it a long time ago. How do you do the upkeep so it doesn't damage your hair?

Iluvsmuhgrass I was scared to bleach after all the horror stories. After bleaching I washed with a gentle cleanser and did an intense protein treatment and followed it up with a moisturizing DC. I just made sure I was extra gentle and made sure it was moisturized at all times. I also started alternation more between protein and moisture.

Pokahontas, I did have to bleach first. My hair is way too dark to get anything to show without bleaching first.

Seamonster Thank you! It definitely will. All my grays are bright blue!
