I was at Target the other day passing through the haircare section as quickly as possible and I thought I saw the old HE bottles but paid it no mind because I was in the section to get some Tresemme naturals conditioner. I'm kind of excited to try the updated formulas that are silicone and sulfate-free, I really loved the scent of the rose hip products back in the day. Has anyone tried the new smooth and shine products yet?

Ohh I'm a sucker for original packaging, I use to love the herbal essence commercial's when I was younger. I was an Aussie Kid but my older sister used herbal essence and when I would take a shower I would try to act like the commercial ROFL. I'll be trying it out.

Yuppers. PJ happy moment.

Weirdly, the ads are screwed up. The shampoo is silicone free, and the conditioner is sulfate free...

The color me happy smells just like the pink bottle, if the price is too steep...which it is for me. 12 oz for $4.39 vs. 33.8 [a liter] of color me happy for $6.98

It's not just the ads that are screwed up.

I just looked at the ingredient lists on drugstore.com, the conditioner does contain two silicones and the shampoo contains two sulfates. The conditioner and shampoo bottles just claim not to contain the ingredient that is usually not found in them anyway. I don't think this excites me anymore although I will buy the shampoo since I don't mind using sulfates once in a while. HE should have just released the original formulas, there's nothing cute about stating the obvious on your products.

So, its true...

...the legend returns!

Seriously tho I loved the old packaging and the scents, it's just a shame they're tryna be slick with their marketing. Sulfate free condish...really HE? who u tryna play? I just want if anything, them to bring back that LTR leave-in. Oh, and can it come in a decent sized bottle? Please and thank you.

Nice...I used to love the formula in the cream colored bottle with the green top.and it smelled so darn good! I used it late 90's (circa 1998/99) and it left my relaxed hair soft shiny, and smelling heavenly. Hope they use the original formula if they reintroduce it. I also loved the rose hips and jojoba variation in the mauve pink bottle.

I already picked up a shampoo in the old style bottle last week. I thought it looked like it shouldn't have been there but I didn't think too much of it. I couldn't recall what the recent bottles looked like anyway so I figured it was kind of normal but I did wonder why it looked old lol.

I think they took out the ammonium lauryl sulfate which I like but the shampoo is just okay.
I used to REALLY love the scent of the purple shampoo from HE...

I saw these and in Target last week and picked up the old conditioner in the yellow bottle. I looove the smell of this stuff.

Sidenote: they used some
"clever" marketing and put "NO SILICONES" on the SHAMPOO bottle and "NO SULFATES" on the CONDITIONER bottle....they think they're slick.

I just saw your post after I replied. Again...they think they are soo slick. Still love the brilliant shine collection's smell though - takes me down memory lane.

I always thought they should have introduced the new lines and kept the old ones as well, the original ad nothing wrong with it and the packaging was so different that it looked like a new line

Those aren't the REAL classic shampoos.....this is:

This was the best shampoo I ever used :love3: (besides my rosemary shampoo bar) but if they are going to bring something back, they need to bring this back. I used this throughout the 80's....hair was fabulous!!!:yep:

stay at your best ♥
I have the pink one and use it for clarifying now. Like someone else mentioned, it's basically the Color Me Happy shampoo in a smaller bottle lol. But I'm a sucker for pretty packaging lol

I wanted to bump this because I just left Walgreens and saw what was on the bottles and I thought I was tripping:lachen:. They cannot be serious lol, I guess people missed it though, the shelf was pretty much wiped out.

I saw those same products in Target this past weekend. It was a HUGE turnoff when I saw that they really did market the products as being silicone/sulfate free, when they actually are NOT...:nono:

How they gonna put "0% silicone" on the shampoo that has TWO sulfates, and then put "0% sulfate" on the the conditioner that has Silicone??

Do they really think we are THAT stupid?? Apparently so.... :lachen:

I was real excited about this but didn't buy it because of the sulfate ree conditioner nonsense. They're trying to appeal to people like us who read ingredients and care about these things... it can't be that hard to make a cone free formula

I saw the (pink) Rosehip Conditioner in Target that I rarely frequent a few weeks ago, and I scooped up a bottle thinking that this was leftover from the discontinued HE Rosehip line. Glad to hear it's back. I've used the conditioner since elementary school.

I actually think they are trying to appeal to people who aren't hip to ingredients and they were probably hoping to trick some of us who are hip and not paying attention.

I was hoping this line would actually be silicone and sulfate free. HE needs to open their eyes and create products without those ingredients. I bet it would sell well if it worked like Tresemme naturals.
