What changed your hair for the better? (Name one thing)

The one thing that changed my hair for the better was upgrading my products. In the past I would use lots of cheap drug store stuff. Now I use higher quality/higher end products on my hair. Now my hair feels better, breaks less, and looks better.

What is the one thing that changed your hair for the better?

I know that this post has been done before, but I thought that it would be nice to revisit the topic.

Washing frequently. My hair loves water whether I am relaxed/natural.

The second thing (though you did not ask, LOL) is not cutting often. I used to cut every weeks wondering why I could only be APL - BSL. LOL! Now I know.

WIGS...the best protective style ever :yep:...well imo. I retain all of my length when I wear wigs consistently...whenever I switch to doing something different I see lack of retention so i'm sticking with my wigs.

my bonus!!..S-curl

Agree with upgrading hair products.

I used to think the name brand stuff was overrated, but I was so wrong. The ones I use are worth every penny and I refuse to go back to the cheapy stuff.

A search engine named Google. I learned so much just through online research than I ever would have learned at a salon. For that, I am grateful.

Patience, learning new techniques that worked, and positive affirmations about my hair.

My husband's acceptance of my hair and constant assurance definitely helped now and definitely in the beginning stages...

Coconut Oil...My hair hates it as a sealant, but loves it as a daily prepoo. Results, no breakage, more strength.

I have very fine, relaxed so by far stretching my relaxers to 12 weeks and leaving some texture has completely transformed my hair. Without this, every other wonderful thing I do to my hair would be fruitless.

Whisper "bleep boop" to yourself when you're sad.
GHE'ing nightly has helped to turn my hair from chronically dry and crunchy to squishy and moisturized.

And I'm gonna be hard-headed and add another one  STEAM. My dearest steamer, oh, how I love thee. :love5:

......This is hard lol, but if i had to pick one its figuring out that I have fine strands, but alot of them.

I know that may seem crazy, but I always figured I had thick coarse hair, when in reality I have fine dense hair . Tangles are now a thing of the past :).

Washing more frequently. My hair doesn't do well stretching my wash cycles.

AFashionSlave - What are some of the products you use?

Right now I'm using Keracare Dry itchy scalp shampoo and conditioner, Morrocan oil, and Keracare leave in conditioner. Before I fell in love with Keracare I used Derm Organics Shampoo, conditioner, and leave in.

The only cheap product that I still use from time to time is that old fashioned black gel. LOL!

No relaxers (I'm not trying to be controversial; but, not using them anymore really helped my hair as my hair is back to it's fullness and health).
