No animosity here but I think most people somewhat sit back & observe the board culture before posting. Of course it's your $6.50 or whatever the fee is so you can do as you please.

The LHCF ladies are also known as the FBI around here. Just a thought - if I had to give a quick assessment - you have a website that promotes a product for sale. You're thinking that this board might be a great place to drum up business. My advice. Tread carefully...
Y'all are good! The LHCFBI strikes again!

Thread from April 2010 - Anyone heard of Victoria Crystal?

Then you have to go out in to the WORLD to preach your message of salvation. Don't worry girl, everyone here got the message, found the scripture, highlighted it, folded the page for bookmarking & did the praise dance & song!

Hehehe!!! Too too funny!

And here we go! A book for sale? You don't say!

I personally would assume that anyone coming to the *LONG* hair care forum would know or find out pretty quickly that hair does grow.

It's just a matter of how.

As I said..I acknowledge that I was not aware of how things were done..and how people took what I said was on them..if the advice was incorrect I could see someone saying something, but it was not and I am aware that many stylists have the same and even more knowledge than I do,so my stance was not a "holier than thou",just sharing info. Also, once informed,I removed my website and continued to give advice and have been thanked for some of it...if I just wanted to sell the book..after being informed that I could not..I would not have returned to the site..and if there is still a post that has the site on it that I overlooked..someone can tell me and I will remove it.Again..not here for contention.

All right, perhaps we all got off on the wrong foot.

Welcome Victoria, this is DOTS. The way things are done is usually when someone is new they introduce themselves.Tell us a little about yourself.

OP, what you posted was the same as going into a college, standing on a chair and shouting "what we must learn is that 2+2=4."

Know your audience. That's all everyone is saying. :lachen:

These women have hair to their knee caps. We get discounts from vitamin companies and start businesses and share long detailed histories of our hair care journeys.

But when people try to set context for you, you keep saying 'many, many, many people don't know." "You'd be surprised...."

No one is surprised. When we have to pick up our hair to keep from sitting down on it people ask us which parent is white, Puerto Rican, Bangladeshi .... then tell us we have that growing hair and were just lucky cause we Chinese and we don't understand cause they hair don't grow.

We know already.

Welcome to the boards :lachen:

Please don't leave. It'll be fun having you here. :)

Thank you DOTS..I have been in the biz for almost 35 years and am known for helping people to grow their hair..I am on my second round of going from no hair almost to once, waistlength while relaxed and now natural for a little over a year, hair is almost bra length..it was truly and has been on other sites my intention to help others who would like to achieve and retain growth...Yes I have a book...but am known on other sites for giving much free info..and that particular thread is one that I am always asked..so everyone does not know..some actually do think their hair does not grow. And no one, as someone else said is going to run me off..lol..I paid my money like everyone else.I will simply exercise the block options for those who wish to be contentious..but otherwise..where I see I can offer help..I will.

Ms. Victoria, welcome to the board. There are so many experts on this hair board--with hair down to the floor, you could not imagine. ON another note, DanceOnTheSkylines your hair looks pretty in your avatar and signature- nice thick mini braids n twists. What products/technique did you use to get the avatar style? Is that a twistout/blowout/braidout? Heat or no?

You haven't been well received because you keep starting threads giving unsolicited advice about really basic stuff. It really is odd OP.

Since you have such a vast amount of experience and knowledge, how about you participate in the threads where the OP's are asking for advice.

I have,a page and a website..but what I have found is that people will take all of the free info they can get..but then won't buy the manual..so I don't go on them...

Thanks girl!

Blow out Then Twist out left in overnight. I'm not consistent with products because I'm still trying to find my go-to moisturizer, but on that particular day I used Garnier Fructise Color Shield Leave-in and Hot Six Oil to moisturize and seal, blew my hair out using the tension method with my $20 Jilbere blow-dryer, and However, I do not like and no longer use that leave-in. The consistency is liquid, but when it dries it becomes stick. I like leave-in with slip to prevent tangles. I've been using Hot Six Oil for years though.

I did start doing that after some,KINDLY told me about where to post..this thread was before that..like I said..I am learning and not trying to sell the book any more..someone told me this was a good place to do so..so I came here..once finding out that I was in error..I stopped and removed my website too..and since posting in the right places,it has been well received..so I thank and have thanked those people.

Do you do much of the natural hair circuit? When I was hosting an event in my town, we tapped the author of Thank God I Went Natural. We ended up going with another event topic, but she would have been well received because she is an author.

Do you do many shows or workshops? I know you're doing radio so you must be an experienced speaker.

You have Youtube?

I say many because many keep asking..and that seems to be escaping those who are reading these..MANY people are constantly asking..not here,obviously..but that is one of the main questions I am asked or the main thing I am told..and again..as I have already said..I know there are many others here with knowledge and even more than I have..for some of these people who don't seem to like old info..sure are making me repeat myself..lol

Awesome, glad to see you're sticking to your guns! We may seem a little hostile, but it's only because there are many people who have come here with less than helpful intentions in the past who have followed a similar pattern to yours. I personally apologize for the misunderstandings I had earlier. Please continue to participate.

Is it possible you could share your hair journey, and if you feel comfortable pictures as well?
