Hot Buns Hair Accessory.....

I purchased the hot buns accessory from ebay and I love it! I had to do some doctoring to it because the fabric was not hair friendly. I sewed some satin fabric all around it and since one of the snaps popped off, I sewed some sturdy snaps on it too. I wore it on Sunday and it worked very well and I loved the look. I prefer the Hot Buns instead of the foam bun or sock bun because with this one, you wrap your hair around it and then spread it all around. I wore it high on my head with some hair jewelry. When I got home and took it down, I found only one strand of hair. I've decided to go back to the basics of wearing buns 24/7 to get some serious growth. I would suggest if you're interested in purchasing, don't purchase on ebay.... too expensive. I understand that Walmarts carry them. Just wanted to share, I love it!

I opened up the box at walmart and saw that it's the same thing as they have at the beauty supply store, I got mine from ricky's in nyc for like $2 with snaps on the end

I like it but at the end of the day my bun is uneven, gravity makes the majority of my hair settle at the bottom of the bun. It can even have a gap at the top and make like a U shape

I'm mad you had to do some doctoring though. Ain't no body have time for all that!

Oh I had to, because you know girl, these things are often not geared to our type of hair. It was the same with the foam donut bun. I had to sew satin strips around it so my hair would not become damaged. But it's all good. I'm planning on buying more, but I'm going to purchase from Walmart.

My bun was perfect and it sit right where I put it. Gravity did not shift it around. I love it. I need to shop around at beauty supply stores to see if they carry in the area where I live. Thanks for sharing.

I stopped using all those fillers and foam buns and just use a Goody Spin Pin for my bun. I filmed the process here: http://youtu.be/YY8Q2zKA67U

I am wearing this bun again today and it took me about 30 seconds to do this morning once I took out my chunky twists. My hair is still a bit damp from yesterday (covered with leave in, oil and hair butter). I did not use any gel since my hair was still a bit damp from the products.

Ok I am going to purchase a spin pin and try this. I never thought they would work on my hair, but we have almost identical textures, both wet and dry. Thanks for posting the link to you video, subscribed. I hate watching youtube hair videos, but I think I could learn a few tips and tricks from you. :yep:

Don't know. Just went to the website and they sell it, but it's out of stock. The closest Walmart that carries it is 30 miles away from where I live.

Someone gave me one of these. Even with me sewing satin all around, the little hooks eventually poked through the fabric and it was still a pain to try and close.

I'm seconding naturalmanenyc because Spin Pins are where it's at.
