Flexi Rod Set on Natural Hair

Hey Ladies...

I was inspired by this picture of the lovely Tracey Ellis Ross and got a flexi rod set today and I Had to share my results!!! The hair stylist said it should last me 10 days...so we will see!

SeeLexus, how do u m&s with this style? I would worry that moisture would make it frizz up.

Yeah you can't use moisture. It is similar to a Roller Set..people do to straighten their hair.

Beautiful curls!!! Did you happen to notice which products she used for styling/setting? I have been doing flexi sets on mostly natural hair and just tried Curl Formers which I liked even more. Lovely the first day. But alas, because both result in BAFA after third day and because I seem to be manipulating more in order to get rid of said friz, I'm 'bout to go the route of Texlaxing/TU after many years of no chems (wore weaves for 6 years - enough!) That said, if there is a product out there that will hold natural curls .....?????

Sorry just saw your question..She washed and conditioned with Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner..and used design essentials natural and twist set setting lotion with the flexirods.

Can you please do some fashion stuff too on channel...

See I need to do this on wet hair... I tried flexi-rods this past weekend on dry/relaxed hair and the curls fall like 15minutes after taking out rods... My friend was like it only works on weave... erplexed

SeeLexus. LOL Okay, so now my question is: do you remember how long you sat under the dryer and at what setting? Sorry for the 3rd degree but I am determined to use my Curlformers and Flexirods and get a good result. Used the Design Essentials Twist and Setting Lotion but result was kinda ... ehhh. Still got a lot of frizz. We've got a thread going re products for these types of hair rollers and PeloHello said she sits under dryer for 3 hours and still has to air dry after that. Wondering if this is wear I am failing??? (P.S., every time I am tempted to just give up, I look at your pic and I'm like, "uh-uh, I gotta figure this out!!!"
