Can natural hair look moisturized?

She's probably just trying to convince you to get a perm. Stick to your convictions. If natural is what's best for your hair, never change.

You can lock in moisture in natural hair and it will retain shine. All you have to do is add oil such as Optimum Oil Therapy Shine Booster right after you wash, condition and moisturize. If you had the oil while the hair is still wet it really does seal in moisture for days.
Try it and you will see for yourself.

I get what your stylist is saying. And it's true to a certain degree. Like the other ladies have stated, natural hair thats moisturized isn't going to look like relaxed moisturized hair. But your hair looks plenty moisturized in your pics. What are you using? I wish mines looked shiny like that.

I have seen natural hair that is moisturized. Yours even look moisturized in your pic. But along the lines of what RelaxerRehab said relaxed moisturized hair looks very different from natural moisturized hair. Most natural moist hair isn't shiny-if that's what you look for in moist hair. It's more of a sheen.

honestly, i think she told you this because she wants you to get a relaxer since that would mean more potential income for her. sadly this is quite common.
but to answer your question, yes, natural hair can look moisturized. Your pictures alone attest to that. For myself, a bit of s-curl and some olive oil makes revives my dry twists in no time. My wet buns are also really shiny and soft. And my pressed hair is really shiny. So yeah, she's hustling.

So what are you guys doing to get that 'moisturized look.' It seems like no matter what I do to my hair it will always look dry. It looks nice and shiny and moisturized initially, but later it seems to look all dried out really quickly. I moisturize and seal w/ oil and still this happens.

At least twice a day, I use the Garnier Fructis Length & Strength Fortifying Cream Conditioner as a moisturizer, put their Anti-Split Ends treatment on my ends...and as of yesterday, I tried Nexxus Phyto Organics Humectin as a leave-in moisturizer and then sealed with Amla Lite oil, and that gave me great results, too.
Also, if your hair feels dry, it could be what you're moisturizing with. Maybe you need a "heavier" moisturizer, in the sense not that it weighs your hair down, but it has more moisture enhancing properties.

I put my ORS olive oil moisturizer on my hair while in the shower. Then, I wrap my head with a microfiber towel to blot up the excess moisture. Then after about 5-10 minutes I take the towel off, rub some avocado oil in my hands, and pat my hair with my oily hands. i scrunch my ends with oily hands too. my hair stays soft and moist all day.

I've been using the Africas Best Kids Shea Butter Detangling Moisture Lotion that a lot of naturals rave about, but its really not doing much for me. Its really thin and runny and I dont think its moisturizing my hair well at all. Off to find something heavier. Thanks!!!
