protective styling -- in the 2 months I've been doing it I've seen a noticeable thinning in my edges. scary stuff and i've never had that problem before, even when i went to dominican salons weekly. not doing it anymore.
cantu shea butter -- it was nice for like....2 weeks. now my hair is so hard and gross looking even after I shampoo and condition. i'm sticking to moisture products over protein heavy stuff.
braids -- i've tried it twice. it irritates my scalp something fierce.
Avoiding silicones. I love silicones for MY hair. Heck, if I find an awesome product with mineral oil in it, Imma still use it! If it doesn't make my hair dry, break off, or stunt my hair growth...shoot, why not??
1. Wash N Go's - Dry, tangled, matted hair.
2. Co-washing - Build up, dirty scalp that resulted in shedding.
3. Denman brush.
4. Henna - Eventually it dried out my hair.
5. Sulfate free shampoos only.
6. Not washing often for the sake of retention.
That garbage was way overly perfumed and just sat on my strands like white globs of goo. And let's not talk about the price point for that disgusting mess.

Me too, I had finally saw a carol's daughter at a mall and was siked! I brought the wooden comb, marguarites hair magic or something like that and some peppermint oil stuff. I don't use the comb because it doesn't even gather hair to me or detangled well (teeth shaped like a square), the peppermint burned my eyes and my man didn't like it either and the magic hair potion just dried my hair out, it was so dry, I returned it back ASAP . It is way over priced and the man tried to get me to buy something else, I kept saying no and kept it moving
