Can glycerin make your hair feel greasy?

I Know everyone is sick of my greasy/oily hair complaints lol. This is the second biggest problem other than breakage, but after chelating my hair and using protein the breakage is starting to get better.

Now I just cannot find a leave in/moisturizer that doesn't make my hair feel oily. Most just make my hair feel mousitrized until it dries and then it feels greasy. I want my hair to feel like almost naked but mositurized.

I just recently tried Hair Foreplay by Sdotbeauty. It is the only thing other than Qhemet Burdockroot that I have ever used that left my hair moisturized for a full 24 hours! But there was still a greasy feeling. Not as greasy as the Burdockroot, but it was bad enough that I did have something on my hand when touching my hair after the product dried.

Here are the ingredients: Ingredients: Distilled Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Astrocaryum Tucuma Seed Butter, Vegetable Glycerin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Fragrance, Phenoxyenthanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Tocopherol Acetate,

If it wasn't for that slightly greasy touch I would have found the product I have been looking for for 5 years! Could it be the glycerin? Yes I'm going to have her make me a glycerin free bottle, but I still want to know what others think about glycerin leaving a greasy feeling.

It could be a combination of the aloe and glycerin. The aloe might be too much, causing the cuticles to close and the glycerin could just be sitting on top. I, personally do not use any hair product with glycerin because it dries my hair out in deep conditioners and heat protectants and makes my hair damp, build-uppy and dry in a leave-in and moisturizer.

The only leave-ins I use are Silk Dreams Wheat Germ Butter, Pura Body Naturals Murumuru Moisture Milk and now Perfect Blends Coconut and Olive Moisture Hair Lotion. The SD smooths my hair without build-up and leaves shine and I retouch after 3 days. The PBN leaves my hair good for about a week depending on the DC I use and the PB holds up well as a blow-out cream and hair lotion and leaves an incredible softness. They last a while too. Not sure if you are into these vendors, but these are the only leave-ins that work for me and don't contain glycerin.

Thanks girl. I ordered that wheat germ butter a few days ago. I hope she hurries up I am all out of leave ins/moisturizers. That glycerin is high up on the list too I bet there is a lot of it.

I made a mixture of Infusium 23, Glycerin, Scurl and the pink Profectiv and it leaves my thirsty hair moist. I've been using it now for a couple of days and no complaints yet. I recently cut off my relaxed ends and have been texturizing with Phytorelaxer Index I. To get my hair straight I have to flatiron, however ever since I've been using my mixture, I have no need to flatiron and I just leave grapeseed oil on for 20 minutes, wash, deep conditioned with a conditioner that I add Glycerin for 25 minutes, dry and roll using my mixture. It also left my hair moist and not greasy. I'll use this combo until my hair grows back in and then use less of the product when I want to flatiron.

I want to edit this to say my grandmother died recently so I was in Jamaica and my hair went limp. It felt wet. My mixture only works in cold weather, I guess because Glycerin was added it attracted moisture and left my hair clummy. Now I am looking for something to keep my hair from reverting but moisturized during the summer. I just ordered Dark and Lovely Anti-reversion serum. I'll see how that works. If that does not give me any moisture, I am thinking of buying Garnier serum and SF Frizz Ease and do a mixture of some kind.
