Super simple summer wash n go regimens

Napp

Ms. Nobody
Does anyone have a super simple wash n go regimen? no extra manipulation such as rollersets or twist/braid outs. just strictly wash and go hair.

When i say "simple" I was thinking along the lines of this:

DC 1x a week with heat
co wash and detangle hair every 3
leave in conditioner and let air dry on wash days.

does anyone else have a regimen like this? How has your progress been?

it seems that i am one of those people who NEED to comb their hair every few days. my hair keeps tangling due to the shed hair and im frustrated.

-Co-rinse and detangle daily with shower comb (I have summer classes and it gets HOT here in Texas)
-shampoo ~2x a week
-DC with favorite hair masque 1x a week
-leave in some serum/oil/hair milk/condish/whatever
-rake in gel, lightly shake and gooooo lol

but you probably already know this lol. my regimen hasn't changed much over the years. progress is fine. I miss your blog :(

I'll share with you my regimen I've had for years, it rarely changes except for the timing. The sample you gave really captures the essence, so it's not much different.

Step 1: Shampoo once a week, condition or deep condition right after. Finger comb or use wide tooth comb.

Step 2: Here are a few options -- don't rinse out the conditioner from the wash step, or rinse and apply leave in on soaking wet hair, or t-shirt dry and use leave in

Step 3: air dry, style with pins, clips or bun.

Step 4: Cowash every other day or as needed. Times appropriate for extra cowashes are after vigorous exercise or stanky hot weather.

I use a modified Curly Girl method. I cowash twice a week and shampoo once a month. I alternate light protein and moisturizing DCs weekly. I also henna and indigo about 4x a year but only to cover my gray hair.

my regi is simple....i recently incorporated co washing more often and my hair has been much better off these last few weeks. the curls pop more and my hair is softer when i wake up.

Lightly shampoo once a week to remove build up and sweat (I was co washing only, but this seems to work better for me) I focus on my roots only and then rinse.

Co wash every other day or daily depending on if i workout.

Deep condition prepoo with a turban for an hour once or twice a week. Once a week I put protein on my ends only.

Daily Styles:

an airdried ponytail, bun as soon as i get home

bun on days i don't co wash

wash n go curls (usually only on weekends because i like to keep ends tucked in at the end of the day)

that's it.....deep condition, wet, air dry. those are my staple routine practices.

My regimen is pretty simple too!

1. Prepoo at night with my favorite oils (Jamaican Black Castor Oil)

2. Wash and condition in the morning with argon one shampoo and conditioner.

3. Towel dry. Spray in leave in conditioner and scrunch curls with foam setting lotion (LottaBody Olive Oil)

4 if I am in a rush I sit under hair dryer for about 15 mins while I check my morning emails :)

I then drive in the work and fluff out my hair once it dries :)

What you said is basically my regi....

I only shampoo when my hair feels coated or my scalp is super itchy.

Cowash every 2-3 days. (Detangling in the shower under running water with a paddle brush)

Rake in leave in & gel with my fingers.

That's it.

My wng's last about 3 days AT THE MOST.

Any longer than that & it's mat city for me. That's been my regi for about a year now, maybe a little more & I'm WHIP length.

This is what I do. But no matter how little gel I use I always end up with crunchy hair.

yeah, styling gel dries very crunchy for me, too, so I use activator gel either by itself or paired with styling gel to keep my curls soft and moisturized. works well for me :3 do you like glycerin? have you ever tried "curl activator" before?

whiteoleander91 I have tried it but not for wash and gos. Does it dry sticky at all? I'd like to eventually find a way to keep my wash n gos soft(er).

I also tried scrunching oil through my hair but I usually have to wait for my hair to dry completely for this to work. And I only diffuse my hair 75% dry and air dry on my way to work or wherever I'm going.

It doesn't dry sticky for me, but there is a learning curve. The easiest way to ensure that it doesn't dry sticky is to mix it with styling gel.

As far as my routine I keep it simple.
Dc with steam or under a cap with every weekly wash. I use protein as needed.

I shampoo as well. I use cantu shea butter then seal with my butter mix.

I air dry 99% of the time and put in mini twists and leave them in for 2-4 wks at a time.

For a "wash and go"I just co wash, use some eco styler gel shake and go

curlyTisME I use a paddle brush exclusively. Detangling is a breeze for me. I'm super gentle and detangle is les than half the time it would take if I used a wide tooth comb.

Plus, I feel like it does a better job of getting all of the tangles out.

What would you say your hair type is? Products then use the paddle brush? What's your styler?
