Let's talk about grease

What grease are you using?

What's in it?

How are you using it?

Why do you use it?

I'm using Blue Magic Coconut Oil Hair Conditioner. It has petroleum, coconut oil and fragrance. I use it mostly because it was sitting around in the cabinet at home, but it turned out to be a great sealant and conditioner. Imagine all the penetrating properties of coconut oil, all the sealant power of petroleum and a light fragrance that makes people say, "do you smell coconuts?"

I have 'alot' of Grease that I use for various reasons. Most of them are 'natural' and primarily have natural ingredients

Right now some of the ones in my Stash I use are (in no particular order):

APB Scalp Treat
DB Eucalyptus & Mint
Komaza Scalp Butter
Hairveda Almond Glaze
Natures Blessing
Claudie's Temple Balm Revitalizer
Naturelle Grow's Rosemary & Parsley Pomade
Naturelle Grow's Honey Hair Balm
Herbs Matter Rosemary Hair Crème (it's really a 'grease')
Taliah Waajid's "The Strengthener" Medicated Formula
N'Joi CreationS Herbal Hair Dressing

Yeah....I'm a "Grease-Head"

I just ordered Oyin Burnt Sugar Pomade and the berry one last week. I was just using oils for a while but my ends prefer something heavier as a sealant.

The Taliah Waajid is found on the Ground and Nature's Blessing (in some places).

I forgot about both Oyin Pomades. Although I don't necessarily consider them a "Grease" per se. I don't use them as such.

Camille Rose Ajani is also nice. Not sure if Target has it or not? I usually get it online.

Nice Thread by the way. I love "Grease"

I loooooove N'Joi Creations Sweet Coconut Pomade. It has a "grease" consistency & smells amazing!

Now that I can get Oyin at Targe I will definitely try out the Burnt Sugar Pomade.

I just started using "grease" as my first product that I layer & I'm seeing a huge difference in my hair. It's sooo much softer than when I use leave-in first. Also, when I put my gel over the grease it doesn't dry nearly as hard/crunchy.

Another grease I like is Hairitage Hydration Cream Cheese Frosting. It's more creamy, but it goes on & acts like a grease because there is no water in it. I was gonna order some more when she had this last $10 sale, but it wasn't listed. So I got Jar of Joe instead, which is different, but there is no water in it, so I'm hoping for similar results. Oh......and I wish someone tries to come at me about how I spend my hard-earned-grown-woman-money :look:

What grease are you using?
I use Natural Oasis Hair and Scalp Conditioner (grease )

What's in it?
Olea europaea (Extra Virgin Olive oil), Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba oil), Vitellaria paradoxa (Argan oil), Vitellaria paradoxa), Calendula officinalis (Calendula), Ricinus communis (Castor oil), vitamin E, floral and herbal extracts of: Calendula officinalis (calendula), Bambuseae (bamboo), Anthemis nobilis (chamomile), Rosa (rose), Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (hibiscus), Lilium lancifolium (tiger lilly), Nettle Urtica dioica (nettle), Equisetaceae (horsetail), Humulus (hops), Fruit, essences of: Mauls domestic (apple), Citrus sinensis (orange), Mangifera indica (mango), Euterpe oleracea (acai), Vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry), Vaccinium macrocarpon (red currant), & Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B), un-refined beeswax, naturally scented with fruit, herb & flower extracts.

How are you using it?
I like to use it in winter for my super dry scalp. This grease is pretty expensive, as grease goes, but fortunately one container lasted me the entire winter.

Why do you use it?
Because I in winter my scalp gets very dry and since the scalp is skin, it only made sense to me that to prevent dry scalp apply an oil to it the way I apply oil to the rest of my skin when it becomes dry. No problems yet!

I used to swear by Nature's Blessings, but the smell is too much for me now. :( I really liked it.

I alternate between:

Parnevu T-Tree Herbal Grow- great ingredient's and smell
-Ingredients: Petrolatum, tea tree oil, stinging nettle, sage, rosemary, chamomile, coconut oil, sesame seed oil, olive oil, castor oil, tocopherp; acetate, panthenol(vitamin b5), sorbitol, sulfur, fragrance. No Mineral Oil

Nature's Blessing
Jane Carter's Nourish and Shine

Back in the day I used Blue Magic and Kuza Indian Hemp. Even though Blue Magic is pure petroleum my stylist could always tell when I wasn't using it because I had more breakage. I'm considering breaking out my old bottle :look:

Even farther back in the day: B&B Super Gro green grease! Coupled with Pink oil moisturizer, what a mess :lachen:

Marc's Lano Lustre. It's supposed to help with growth but I find it really moisturizing. It contains water and glycerin as well as minerals. I notice improved growth when I use it regularly.

I just got back into greasing my scalp. I've been using the APB hair and scalp treat (after I spray my scalp with APB hair tonic).

I style in wash-and-goes, buns, and simple updos. It's all the same styles I would wear without the grease, but I get extra softness and shine when I use it.
