Any JCPENNY or ULTA hair salon experience (relaxer)

I'm interested in this also. My godmother gets her hair done at JC Penny. Her hair is healthy and she's MBL. However, I hear the price range is expensive but well worth it.
I'm thinking of going there myself to get my hair cut to SL due to my hair getting damaged from my previous hairstylist. I'm natural btw.

Either A Blessing Or A Lesson.
I used to have my relaxers done at JCPenny salon. I visited a couple of them before finding a stylist that I felt comfortable with. They use Mizani and Affirm products both lye and no lye. The rates are based on the type of stylist you get. I forget how they are titled, but it's like Premium Stylist, Advanced Stylist and Master Stylist. There's a $10 bump per level in price depending which level stylist.

I had a Master Stylist and my relaxers were $90. Trims/Cuts were $28. I was always very pleased with my results, but I need to stress that I made sure I was very comfortable with the stylist before I ever sat in her chair. We used to sit and talk about hair board topics/products while she was doing my hair.

I ended up going back to natural so I stopped going, but if I was in the market for a trim, I'd go back.

If you have the JCPenny credit card, you'll get discounts in the mail /email for salon services.

I used to go to a JCPenney salon long ago. I ended up with a master stylist plus my hair was MBL when I first started so my relaxers were $120. When I cut back to NL, it dropped to $90 I think.
I was getting charged for going to a master stylist plus having very long hair. I was happy with the service. My stylist used Mizani products on my hair and it thrived. Retained good length and for the most part went from NL to grazing APL in 5 months.

I used to get my hair done at JC Penney's. I don't remember there being levels when I went, but my first stylist was awesome. But then he left. When I tried someone else they were not good. So I would recommend that you meet with the stylist. They are not made equal.

I used to always go to JCP for relaxers. Yes, I experienced the different levels and expensive prices. They seemed to have a relatively high turnover rate, but then I was getting relaxers VERY unregularly...

I go to jcpenney and my hair is in good shape... They are very professional and don't overbook... Plus their hours are wonderful for working people.. They have the same hours as the jcpenney store... I get the affirm sensitive relaxer about every 3 to 4 months... Depending which level of stylists my relaxers range from $73 up to $85 dollars.. My last relaxer was 3 weeks ago and I got a relaxer, major trim and a black hair rinse.. It cost $100 altogether. My jc Penney salon has majority black hairstylists but they know how to style all races of hair... Many white customers go to the black stylists for color cuts shampoo etc.. My pic attached is the result.

I use to go to JcPenny for my relaxer years ago, but quit going because the stylist was over processing my hair and it broke off. She was using Mizani in my hair and was the only black stylist they had.

I've been going to Penny's for the last fifteen years. I went in Savannah, Ga, and now in Virginia. Every stylist is different, just like in any salon. The hours are good. They never overbook. My service was usually just over $100 for relaxer, and trim.

The store changed its policy about a year ago for compensating the stylists, and they ended up losing a lot of the experienced stylists. I just decided that I am going to try to do this myself, but depending on the results, I may end back at Penny's.

I got my hair professionally relaxed for the first and last time at a JCPenney salon in northern VA. The stylist burned my scalp and over-processed my hair. This was back in 2006.
