box braid regimen

I just got box braids installed. I was wondering what regimen are you using if you have them too? Also what products. Thx.

My entire first year natural I was the box braid queen. I miss them, will be getting more soon.

I kept a moisturizing leave in spray to keep them moisturized. Braid sprays worked okay, but Aussie Moist Hair Insurance Leave In works great and is cheap. Your hair will be so soft. I would moisturize them every other day.

I'd wash them using an applicator bottle and diluted shampoo (half water and half shampoo). I would also oil my scalp three times a week and tie them up when I slept.

I don't put much on my box braids or braids in general. I oil my scalp with Doo Grow Hair Oil, I do not put any water product that makes my roots wet because it makes my hair a matted mess. This works for me, hope you fine products that work for you.

After 6 months of twists and not a lot of growth in the back....I decided to wear box braids for the remainder of the year. Also...it will help cut down on manipulation. I colored my hair over a year ago and there is only around an inch left on my ends....I need to do a better job of retention.

Im getting some Senegalese twists tmrw. Can braid regimens apply to twists? I had both before but it was before my HHJ. I would mist my scalp with a 90/10 water conditioner spray then wash my braids every 2 weeks...I dont remember what I did for the twists but they are more prone to frizzing imo so idk where to start. My friend who is doing them just uses oil sheen which even pre-hhj I never been a fan of...
