"You dont even have any hair!"

So Friday afternoon, I was leaving out of my work building the same time as an older white lady and we talked about weekend plans. I told her that I was thinking of cutting my hair into a bob and she said, "why? You don't even have any hair!" As you can see in my avatar, I am BSL, longer than her hair actually. That day I was wearing a bun, but I do wear my hair out every once in a while. I guess it just bothered me that this white lady assumed I had no hair! :nono:

Oh Wow, why would she think you didn't have any hair. I guess because your hair is healthy and she thinks it's a weave. I hope you set her straight

One would think if you have enough hair to pull into a bun (a real one) then you have enough hair to cut off...

I really hope you said, "****! I got more hair than you!" Or something to that effect. Please don't tell me you let this white woman get away with hurting your feelings.

If that was me, i'd have straight up asked her what the hell she meant by then.
Next day I would've come in with my hair down and ask her what she thought....

Unfortunately, many white people think we all have fake hair. :nono:

Just know that her ignorance was all about her and not about you or your pretty hair.

She sounds like a hater to me! It's sad because people of other ethnicity does not understand our hair and make ignorant comments like that all the time. A lady at my job from Bangladesh asked me in front of other people "is that your real hair?" I just asked her the same question with a straight face because that's rude! Just keep doing you and don't even give her the time of day.

BGT Girl! Why didn't you just do a bun drop?

And I'm sure BSL gives you a nice bun. I can't understand what would make her think you don't have any hair.

Please tell me:

1. You didn't cut your hair into a bob over the weekend
2. Wore it down today
3. Deliberately stopped by her office/desk to ask her about her weekend :look:

Actually, they don't. A lot of them are really ignorant in general about black hair... A LOT of them think that the fake hair they see on these women is real and just bad looking/unhealthy. I remember I was on this one website and this racist man was talking about how black people have a problem with their natural hair and was like "Even Beyoncé doesn't like her hair.... she straightens and colors it" WTF :lachen:

It may be the bun. I wore my bun for two years straight until switching to two strand twist this summer. Everyone is shocked how long my hair is. (Twice as long is this dummies!) They also kept getting me confused with a Jamaican girl who actually is bald. Sigh. #whitepeople

I would have done a quick bun drop.

Then smacked her in the face with it as I walked away

OP, please tell me you set her straight!

I'm not giving her the benefit of the doubt - White women know that you have to have some hair to make a decent bun. And odds are, OP wears her bun in different styles/locations. Ole girl was just being messy.

Right and I don't even understand that. We're all different shades of colors, from dayum near white, tan, beige, yellow red, a plethora of browns that are sooooo many different colors and hues, and the mocha deep chocolates... THEY are ALL white... Some red, or orange from trying to get darker... THEY are the ones that all look alike.

Where is the op? I wanna know what happened...
