Is my hair getting thicker or what is this?

hey everyone, so ive noticed that i have LOTS of short hairs on my scalp from when i single braided my hair. every part has lots of hairs about 2-3 inches long. is this normal, as we do loose 50-100 hairs a day and they will grow back or is this attributed to regrowth from hair loss from stress. how can i tell the difference?:ohwell: i really hope that my hair is growing back and getting thicker.:yep:

oh and the ratio of short hairs on my scalp is around 30-40%.

When you say braid do you mean with extensions? I don't like extension braids as a hairstyle anymore too drying and leads to shedding.

I don't have that high a ratio, definitely less than 10% maybe about 5%.
But yes everywhere I part my hair, I can find a few like maybe 5 short hairs of 1 - 3 inches.

I have no Idea what it means .... I already have a thick enough head of hair ... Im cool with not having all of them at the same length lol

Pretty sure it's because the other hairs are falling out and those are the hair which are regorwing. But who knows?

IMO no this is not normal. You say you had braids in no? That's broken hair.

My hair looked similarly after I was getting Havana twists for maybe 6 months. It was awful and it made me sad. I just stopped getting Havana twists and I've been twisting my own hair. It'll grow back. I also had breakage in the front. My hair just isn't strong enough for braids/twists etc.

Sorry this happened to you!

thanks...ive got to start taking care of my hair even better now. i knew something was off about it.

Yes if you do a protective style, like twists, you won't even notice the damage. I couldn't even put my hair in a bun bc there were broken hairs in the front. It's not so bad now but the shorter hairs are coming in so I have some shorter hairs still. But I can bun now, less than 1 yr later). Basically just protective style and forget it! (Like set it and forget it! Lol)
