First of all belated happy birthday!

Second...
:lachen:
I'm sorry girl, but I had to laugh. As I scrolled down I thought how it would look and imagined my head after flat ironing and going out. IDENTICAL! I know how you feel.

OK, I finally got my pics uploaded:

Freshly flat ironed:

I put some Aveda Antihumectant and coconut oil all throughout, then rolled it.

This is in the morning taking the rollers out:

All done:

I went to a couple of outdoor events that day, and this is my hair the next day (I rolled it again that night):

I think I've found a winner. Leaving the con in made the difference. Oddly enough, the Sabino people recommend leaving a little conditioner in before putting the Sabino in your hair, so maybe it's the conditioner and not the Sabino. Hmmm...

Oh, Fabulosity! I so know how you feel!!! Having to flatiron my hair every day (sometimes twice a day) in the summer just to keep it styled, is exactly why I decided to perm. I took the easy way out, this gave me the time to figure out what my hair needed to get it back in balance. My hair was fried from flat-iron abuse.:nono: So 8 months ago, I joined this hair care group to learn how to help my hair.
Your hair, however looks very healthy, and you have nice length. I wonder if your hair is overporous, and sucks up moisture and humidity like mine use to??? The key would be finding out how to quench your hair's thirst on a daily basis, so that it doesn't go seeking moisture from the air every time you're out and about. I am still trying many different combinations of oils, moisturizers and conditioners to keep my strands from straying. Don't give up, just keep experimenting with the flat iron process, and making adjustments as your hair's needs change.
I hope you had a good BD anyway, despite the fact that your hair was doing its own thing, and happy to be free!! Much luv, and happy belated bithday!!!
I think my hair is porous. I cowash basically everyday and use leave ins, etc so i'm not sure just how muck moisture this hurr needs, geeze!! I did have a good bday though :hug2:

You were mad huh, lol. Well it came out really pretty. Did you use Sabino? That might help with reversion.

Have you tried a ceramic hot comb. I find it works a bit better for pressing natural hair than a flat iron. I found it at Wal-Mart.
I was gonna say , did you press first? I'm noticing a lot of ladies who have issues with reversion , have not been totally straight to start with, so the reversion process takes even less time.I KNOW I KNOW , DOUBLE HEAT, but my hair would mop the floor up with just a flatiron if I was natural:lachen:BTW, you still look cute in the second pic. LOL (minus facial expression):lachen:

Last night I went out for my bday for Sushi and a movie. I was gone for a total of maybe 5 hours.

Here is my hair (4a/b ish, natural) before I left the house:

I purposely only lighly fingercombed because I just knew what was in store later...

Here is my hair while I was out and when I came home:

I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun and have just come to accept that my hair will never stay straight. :ohwell: I was so embarrased yesterday because I looked like I had a big wig on:lachen:

That was me yesterday. The only thing that keeps it sleek and straight is a relaxer and I'm not sure I want to go that route since I've been relaxer-free for nearly 10 years. Don't let me add oil. One night I came home after a balmy, Charleston night and had Shirley Temple curls. Shirley Temple! And they curled better than if I'd done them on purpose. What wasn't curly was just afroed at the roots and was BIG!

I am soooooo sorry, but the evolution of the looks on your face is PRICELESS!!!

 :dead:

ETA: Now that I've stopped cracking up @ your facial evolution, it doesn't look that bad. That's how my first wash n go looked when I tried it :yep: I'm sure it will look even better next time :)

The Evolution on your face matches the evolution on your hair...just PRICELESS! :lachen:

Natural again ... this time for good!
I don't think I will ever live these pictures down :nono: :lachen:

Errr ... ummmm ... probably not. I even had to show these to my sister because they were so funny to me. She's natural and completely understands how you felt at the moment.

Sorry, Fab. You're going to have to face the fact that you are pure comedy, woman.

I'm not trying to laugh at your tragedy but the look on your face is making me laugh. I'm sorry no disrespect. Maybe some ladies here could help you find a good hair product to assist you or something. Have you tried straightening you hair with bees wax?

Me too on the bolded part. I've been natural for well over 15 years and don't plan on going back.

If you really like the full curly look in the first set of pictures (LOOKS GREAT and healthy too...plus your beautiful!), then why not do this:

After you get your hair farily straight, apply oil (like coconut and EVOO) and a little bit of a leave in (can even be a non-protein conditioner), and roll it up on rollers (like 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches max). Let it dry all the way (under a hooded dryer or start early enough to allow it to set by airdrying). I guarantee you , you will keep your curls this way. AND ALWAYS carry a clip just in case. You can always just do a messy clip with the existing curls if it starts to poof out. I used to do this religuously. Worked every time.

Girl, I can't help but to laugh at your expressions. You remind me of myself when I spent several hours in a hot bathroom straightening my hair only for it to revert a couple of hours later.

Nonetheless, your before and after hair pics both look good. Just the before is more straight.

I may be taking scissors to it today. I am so over this hair. I did a trim yesterday but I'm thinking today I may do more than a trim....

Is that flat-ironed hair? I've found the flat iron just doesn't work out for me. I have a really great one too! I've gone back to using a plain old stovetop (NOT ELECTRIC) pressing comb with GREASE. Hair stays straight for dayssssss...I get tired of it and wash the straight out. Flat ironing for me is a 24hr or less experience.
