Could you tell us a bit about your hair? That would help people to make recommendations.

I've actually tried both of these (assuming the L'oreal is the one in the black bottle with the yellow/gold details). I think they're both very good products. That Giovanni detangles like a champ while the L'Oreal is more strengthening. I do think the L'Oreal causes a lot of buildup, but if you shampoo every now and then it shouldn't be a problem.

I love Giovanni everything, so I would recommend that over the other choice. But I see that L'Oreal has palm oil in it. Palm oil is a strong moisturizing ingredient in conditioners that works well for my hair.

In that case I think the Giovanni is more moisturizing. They have a green one from that same line which is even more moisturizing imo.

I have never tried the Loreal conditioner but that Giovanni 2chic conditioner is wonderful. Would I recommend it for co washing? Nope. I would recommend conditioners from Giovanni's Eco Chic collection for co-washing. I alternate between Smooth as Silk & 50:50 Balanced conditioners. They lather up, is on the medium scale as far consistency and is more cost effective since you can buy them at places like TJ Maxx or Marshall's for $12 & get 33 oz's.

The 2chic collection is more for deep conditioning or steaming. They don't lather as well, is a tad bit thicker in consistency & a mere 8 oz's for co washing is nothing IMO. But the moisture, detangling properties & the punch of strength they give is powerful. I love love LOVE the 2chic collection.
