ideally a good deep conditioner will leave your hair feeling soft and have lots of slip for detangling. Ingredient wise it just depends on if you are comfortable with using cones or not. And overall just how much you are willing to spend

I can't really say what's best cause its all subjective but here are some dc's that are popular on the forum:

Joico Moisture Recovering Conditioner or Balm
Silk Elements Kera Minerals Smoothing Deep Conditioner
Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle rose conditioner
Aussie 3 Min Miracle Moist
Design Essentials Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner
Creme of Nature Argan Oil Conditioner

Mask Me for Moisture by YHYC and their Mask Me for Protein both make my hair super soft and make my curls nice and springy.

For me, the best moisturizing deep conditioners will contain certain ingredients, namely:

- Conditioning agents, e.g., behentrimonium methosulfate, behentrimonium Chloride, cetrimonium chloride and/or stearalkonium chloride (because these will bind to the surface of the hair and form a film around it that will smooth the cuticle, thereby decreasing tangling and increasing softness while regulating the hair’s pH level)

- Fatty alcohols, e.g., lecithin, cetyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, etc. (since their main function is to create the softness and lubrication (slip) necessary to facilitate detangling without breakage)

- Humectants, such as honey, panthenol, glycerin and castor Oil (given their ability to attract and bind moisture to the hair)

- A plethora of oils, butters, herbs, extracts and vitamins (due to their many wonderful benefits for the hair and scalp, foremost among them are softness, strength and nourishment)

- A low concentration of certain hydrolyzed proteins, specifically wheat, quinoa and silk (because they can attract and retain moisture whilst providing strength without any stiff/hard after effects)

- An absence of ingredients that my hair dislikes, such as shea butter and palm oil/butter

Here is a list of the numero uno moisturizing DCs in my arsenal:

Blue Roze Beauty Cocoa Rhassoul Hair Mask
Blue Roze Beauty Chai Hair Tea
Hairveda Sitrinillah Deep Conditioner
Bask Vanilla Whiskey Reparative Hair Soak
Shescentit Avocado Conditioner
Shescentit Riche Moisture Masque
Silicon Mix Bambu Extract Nutritive Hair Treatment

Hydraquench Go Deep is my second fav followed by Aubrey's HSR and Giovanni smooth as silk.

All of these work even better when I apply it to small sections while detangling with my hands.

Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner
Silk Elements Megasilk Olive Moisturizing Treatment (which is on sale @ Sally's btw)
Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque

The best one by far was the BioInfusion one that Walgreens was selling but they don't make it anymore.

I have found that the difference between having very moisturized hair and mediocre results is using heat. I didn't really see much in the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque until I started using it with heat instead of just using a plastic cap on my head and sitting around with conditioner in my hair for a couple of hours. Now I see what everybody has been raving about. The heat made all of the difference. Some people use steam for their heat source and receive excellent results that way.
