Don't know if I'm gonna make it but I'm still hanging in there. My ends are good and healthy... There's not alot of breakage or shedding so I'll just have to wait and see. :look:

my hair is standing on the top of my head right now:eek: I haven't had a relaxer in 6 months and still counting. I think today I might flat iron my hair. I was wearing braids, but I had to take the out becuase my hair was growing to fast in them, So I've been wearing a wrap on my hair. I've gotten some length but I really can't tell you how much until later this evening when I stop looking like I got struck down by lightining :lachen:

:yay: I'm soooo going to make it! =) My hair is doing very well! The baggy method has done away with the dryness and the HYH challenges are workign wonders for retention!

After I did my retouch, I saw it's not as bad as I thought! :weird:

I dont think I will make it by June so my goal will be sometime end of August when I relax. This will be my first 6mos stretch because Im going on a cruise in Sept so I want to relax right before I leave. I hope I will be APL. If not I will definitely make it there by Christmas. My hair is layered so I want to grow it all one length but not looking forward to cutting any hair off.

Below are pictures of my progress. I'm pleased with it. The advice on this board is awesome. I think if I keep it up I may get close to bra strap by the end of the year ... operative words being MAY and CLOSE.;)

I'm pretty certain I won't be at armpit length by June. After dusting my hair myself then a couple weeks later having my newish hairdresser trim off about an inch of ends that were straighter than the rest of my hair ( Guess it was necessary though they weren't split yet supposedly)...
I'm pretty dissappointed because my hair's been at a standstill for at least a year. So I really need to step up my retaining game. I still hope to be at armpit length by sometime this Fall. I'm going to be sporting alot more protective styles ( half wigs, phony ponies, braids, weave...) to help stretch my relaxer without excessive breakage and shedding.

I don't think I'll make it. I have a disease called TRIM_A_LOT_EVEN_THOUGH_I_SHOULDN'T!!!! I am now 3 inches instead of 2 inches away. I will try my best to gain as much as possible from here on. Maybe I'll be there in December for sure. Hopefully I'll be able to put the scissors down for a few months, co-wash daily or every other day for the spring and summer, and baggy at night.

I am also shooting for bra-strap July 2008. I need to push my goals further than normal because of the excessive trimming!!! Love you Ladies!!!

I am sure I will make it by June. I was really close in March. I will be taking my braids out in 2-3 weeks to relax after my six month stretch. I need to focus on moisturizing, I have neglected my hair a little because I have been so busy. In March it looked like I was 2-3 inches away from APL so I will be there by June :)

I will be using BT faithfully and working on maintaining my protein moisture balance in preparation for my texlaxer

Hi All!!:bdance: Getting my hair to my armpit has been my goal since the beginning of this year. I've been doing the crown & glory from growafrohairlong.com for a few months to help propel me, as long as tips from lurking this site. I'm gonna take the braids out in the last weekend of May, wash & DC and braidout for a week. Then June first I'm gonna get my touch-up. I HOPE I'm there, if I get there I'll post a pic in my siggy. Good luck you all!! See you at the pit!

Hi all , I was away for 2 weeks and no access to computer:eek:
I missed you all sooooooo much.
I was also limited in my hair care and vit routine. Well I'm back on track but I feel I may not see APL for June ..pressing in for August ;) .
We will see ..

Last month I was about 2-3 inches away, and I haven't seen much of a difference since. I'm about 2 months post relaxer right now. When I get my touch-up in May, I'll probably have more of an accurate idea of where I stand. I'm estimating that the little tail I have will reach APL, and the rest of my length will be about 2 inches from it (at the most).

I'm estimating that my stylist will try to convince me to trim my (uneven) hair too.

Karma1981, your meez is hilarious! I love Johnny Depp too!

I may make it to APL by June after all. It was a rough winter, and it seems like I had so much darn breakage and shedding. I am 11 weeks post relaxer, and so far so good this time. This weekend, I am doing a full weave in my head, so I am hoping that protecting my hair for awhile will help me retain some of this new growth for awhile. I am close to APL right now, but I haven't trimmed since November, so my ends are pretty scruffy. But I will see in June how it finally all looks. This board is the only way I've been able to do something like this. These tips are better than anything I've ever heard from a hair dresser.

So far so good! I think I'm going to make it. I just relaxed yesterday and about 1/2 an inch away from APL in the back and 1 inch away in the front. Keeping my hair in protective hairstyles(phony ponies, braids/crown and glory), regular deep conditioning and moisturizing has really helped me retain length.

I had braids in for 4 weeks and I co washed alot. I only used heat 4 times since my last relaxer in december. I want my sides to reach apl in June but I don't think I'll make it. I'm retaining some length on the sides so i won't complain. My next touch up will be in May. I can't wait to see the overall results.

I missed this thread, but I wanna join the challenge! :trampolin
I think I can make APL by September or October! I have pics in my siggy.....I think I need another 2 or 2.5 inches to claim it. I just got a deep trim last month and don't plan on getting another until January. I'm also trying to grow out my layers. Full, healthy APL is my goal!

Checking in for May - currently 6.5 weeks post -- 7 weeks to go until Summer Touch Up, just in time for the end of the challenge - I'll take a progress pic then.

If I can make it to or past the adjusters with dry hair on my cami top that I use to measure ...I can finally claim APL. It's been a long time coming.

Hope everybody is doing well, can't wait to see all the pics in June!

ETA: at least in the back I think I can hit APL...the front still has catching up to do... :/
