I absolutely loved the morrocan oil brand but wayyyy too expensive. I would have stayed with that if I was rich.

I have to add Baby Buttercreme from Miss Jessie's to this list. Do you want some seriously hydrated curls? Get you some, or better yet, find a friend who has some.

Baby buttercreme doesn't work instantly. It really works best after 20 minutes to an hour after applying it. It takes some time to really soak in.

The next expensive product that works is the Carol's daughter hair milk line. I recommend the cowash and leave in combo. If you have fine hair and can find the lite version of the leave in, use that also. The cowash is awesome.
Pair it with the leave in and you have a winning combination.

The original name was known back in the 90s as Wanakee Verifen Complex. Their ads were featured in Ebony, Essence, and Black Hair Talk magazines. The products were specifically tailored for Wanakee's hair, the model. These products aren't sold in stores; they have to be ordered from New York.

I highly endorse these products, and they don’t need to be doctored up. In other words, you don't have to add any oil, honey, aloe vera, glycerin, shea butter, etc., or anything to them. Nor do you need to do a hot oil treatment, pre-shampoo treatment, conditioning wash, etc. This saves a lot of time and less work is needed, plus they are concentrated. A little goes a long way. Just use them straight from the containers.

The link below will direct you to the website. Click on the "Testimonials" and "Before and After" tabs. My hair is naval length or waist length now. I'm Barbara from Beverly Hills.

OMG gurl, I had no idea that was you!!! Are you still suing Wanakee after all these years? They were excellent IIRC and I might just revisit them.

What does IIRC mean?

Yes, but my hair stylist recommended a set of secondary staples for my hair after using Wanakee Verifen Complex for 10 years consistently. My alternative products work just as good when doctored up, and they cost a lot less. Plus, I learned a lot about other good products here that I incorporate into my regimen.

I still use Wanakee's products, but I have to sneak the conditioner and shampoo in since my stylist doesn't want to use them anymore.

He doesn't mind the Hairline Essential Crème, though.

Nevertheless, I don't plan on replacing the items anymore after I finish using them, but I still highly recommend them.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you litigating with the?

It means "if I recall/remember correctly". Why doesn't your stylist like for you to use Verifen conditioner and shampoo? The conditioner was very nice w/ tons of slip, but I never used the shampoo. I used Constant Care for Ends, the conditioner, and the hair oil.

It's shame that the line didn't blow up more and the prices are so high. These days there as good (if not better) products that are cheaper and easier to get.

Late one night, I spoke to Wanakee about her fabulous products. She told me to "spread the word." I have to agree the prices are very high, but I didn't know any better about hair care products, since I've been going to the hair salon since junior high school. Too bad they didn't take off like I thought they would.

I've learned a lot on these hair care boards, and I didn't know I was doing the right thing for my hair, until I read Wanakee's hair guides. So I already had shoulder length hair to begin with. I stumbled on these hair care forums 9 years later after using Wanakee Verifen products.

My stylist said about Wanakee's products: "All it is, is oil. They have more oil in them than other black hair care products, and I have to work extra harder when I use the detangler. I have a detangler that works better than your's." However, he didn't complain about the improvement in the quality of my hair. So for every 2 weeks for 10 years, I brought them into the salon.

He felt it's good to change up from time to time, so that's when I decided to purchase the products he recommended for my hair, since they were mentioned on this hair care forum anyway. I keep replacing only the ones that work well. The others that don't work, I mix them up with other products, and they still don't work. However, one day, I will use them up instead of throwing them away.

Yes, there are other products that are cheaper and easier to get than Wanakee Verifen products, but I have to doctor them up in order to get the same results.

I see Keratase products mentioned often in this thread so I thought I was just gonna mosey on down to the internets and place an order right quick......

Uh, was I in for a rude awakening or what. I mean I was expecting expensive but I had damn sticker shock. I honestly don't mind spending money on products but I just don't want to be stuck with expensive products that do the same thing that BSS or drug store brands do. Are there any places that I can purchase this that have a money back guarantee?

This made me giggle because I've tried to mosey down to the Kerastase site before, then smooth mosey'd right on out.
