I jumped on the Quick Weave Wagon....

I have problems with my nape also. My nape is shorter than all the rest of my hair. Whenever I wear half wig hair pieces like this I make sure I moisturize more in the area where the comb pieces are and I remove the hair piece every night.

try cutting the comb out, there is an adjustable band lining the cap so you can adjust it without using the comb.

Thanks for the tips ladies ... I was already eying the quick weaves last time I went to the BSS. Now I think I just may pick one up on my next visit. I'm actually kind of excited :).

That's really cute! Do all quick weaves attach with a comb? When you use the comb attachment, what exactly do you do if you can't cornrow?

Yes they do all come with combs. You can take them out if you'd like but I'm not sure if it would stay on without it. All of them do not have the adjustable band. You don't have to cornrow. You can just put it on. Some people opt to cornrow the hair underneath. I don't. I just put it on.

Question: Does anyone wear their Quickweaves in the summer months or do you find it's too hot to wear them? I'd like to buy a couple to switch up my look without doing a lot of manipulation, but I don't think I could tolerate it long if my head got too hot.

I wear them all year round when I'm not in weaves or braids.

Here's another question: does anyone know of a particular brand that tends to fit small heads best. In the past, I've always had a problem with the cap being too large.

get one with a drawstring in the back. I think Freetress and outre have these.

Do you guys practice the baggy method when u wear your wigs?

When wearing my half wigs, I wear my baggie all day and then take down at night for at least 30 minutes to dry and baggie again.

Yes!!!! I jumped on the wagon with the quick weave/half wigs (whatever you want to call it) because its soooooo convenient for me. Underneath my weave my hair is moisturized, saran wrapped and covered with a wig cap. I use the wig cap just incase the wind is blowing you wont see braids sticking out!

Some quick weaves have the draw string & combs. Personally, this work better for me because sometimes the “piece” can become loosened and I have to use more hair pins. Whereas if I have the drawstring and comb, I can just tighten the “piece” up. Also with a drawstring the “piece” can be used for ponytail. Check out my fotki- I have a couple of pics. http://public.fotki.com/sassypisces/

Cute girl!!!!

I wore Aisha yesterday and fell in love with her.. Shes my new spring/summer "do". I paid 24.99 for her a few days ago shes a half wig but I don't use the teeth because I don't want to lose hair. Instead in the front I use 3 hair pins and in the bag it has something like bra snaps and I actually take that across the wig so it never touches my hair. I hope I never get into a wind storm cause it will fly off quick...I'll take some pics of her tomorrow.

Thanks so much for the link! Looks easy enough, but the comb in the back kinda scares me, my nape is my big problem area. :(

I'm hijacking this thread:eek: sorry LOL...my nape/"kitchen" is my problem area also (check my signature) but I keep it cornrowed and just brastrap the quick weave in the back and the rest of my hair is baggyed underneth. I don't ever use teh combs in the weave because I cant afford to lose ONE STRAND of my precious hair:lol:

I bought a couple of human hair quick weaves last year, but was hesitant about wearing them out. So, a little over a month ago, I just bought some wide headbands (my hair would never blend), and put them on. I don’t feel self-conscious at all about them and they look pretty good. :)

I've been a phony pony girl for a few years, but I really like these! However, I really couldn't baggy my hair as usual (and my hair needs protection). Instead, I oil up the length of my freshly washed hair, and just braid it in about 6 single braids (except the front/bang area that peeks out the headband), and leave it. Every few days, I spray the braids with S-Curl to keep my hair moisturized. It is ridiculously low maintenance. It's like having a sew-in weave without the maintenance or the price tag! :yep:

Because this method has been working so well, I think I'll have my sister corn braid my hair for me so I can leave it braided for a few weeks.

Yeah, I still don’t know how corn braid…

KINKYLYFE!!!!!! I looked at your fotki and you've started something re. the quick weave for me!!!! Here's my story in brief:

Here's my most recent instant updo that I bought:

but what I did is cut it so that it would look more like a bob (I twisted my hair in the front so it could blend (hopefully I get an A for effort!)

I wanted a quick weave/instant do that matched my texture but due to boredom and seeing SEVERAL similar looking weaves at church :)lol:), I wanted to do something different. The way that you pull your hair back is the way I pull my hair back to wear the half-wig and your photos showed me that I can do my hair like that as well so...

THANK YOU!:)
