thanks for the welcome, ladies!

okay, i think i figured out the CSI on here. it looks like it's Chi Silk Infusion. i'm starting to get all caught up.

does anyone have any suggestions for the shedding?[/QUOTE]

Welcome back!

This is surreal. I was suffering from shedding for months recently and kept thinking about the picture you have in your album showing a your increased shedding.

After reading some of the topical aids threads, I decided to give Neosporin AF a try. The results were quick and my shedding cut in half in just a few days.

It's not just you, LocksofLuv. Adrienne's hair appears to be past waist length to me, also. :yep:

hi ladies!

i haven't posted on this part of the board in a while. i feel so lost. what is BT? what is CSI? :look:

to give an update, my hair is having issues but not really. i never did reach waist length. i've either reached my length limit (if we have one), or i've been in the telogen growth phase—for about two years. my hair's probably 1½" shorter than the pic on my avatar. i've been going in the wrong direction for a while. it sheds alot when i wash. so i don't wash as much as i like to (every couple weeks).

i still do the baggie trick 90% of the time. i get a texturizer every 12-14 weeks with Affirm sensitive scalp. i still use most of the same products that i've used for years.

anyway, other than the BT and CSI, i don't really have any questions. hope all is well with those that remember me, and happy growing to those that i don't know yet!!

p.s. a special shout out to my girl, allandra! :)

hey girl, i sure remember that pretty texturized hair. Welcome back.

Hey girl!!! Geez! I remember seeing your name all over the hair boards when I first started. I'm sorry you are suffering with shedding I had tons of it for about 8 months but mine was from a wisdom tooth surgery. Nothing worked to stop my shedding but prayer and time. It stopped for a couple of months and then started back up but I'm guessing this is normal shedding because its not on the level it was.

Shedding remedies I've read on the board:
Garlic treatments - shampoo and/or conditioner (Queen Helene and some others)
Alter Ego Cren - liquid treatment applied directly to the scalp.

I hope something helps stop your shedding.

OT: I didn't realize so many ladies have been on the boards since 2002-2003!!! Wow! You brought 'em out, girl! :) Sounds like a reunion up in here. lololol How long has LHCF been around? Wish I had found ya'll sooner!

well, i probably won't get to drop in as often as i used to, but it's so nice to see how many people actually remember me. i thought it would be crickets up in this thread. to read that i was someone's inspiration is still the ultimate compliment for me. when i first joined BHSGO in 2000. i was just hoping my hair would get past my shoulder.

regarding the shedding, i guess i will have to break down and buy the garlic shampoo. the only reason i've hesitated in the past is that i hate switching products, which can aggravate my psoriasis. hopefully that will work. and i will also try the BT because i want to see if i can get past my longest length.

speaking of length, i have always thought of waist length for me as touching my butt. i guess because i'm short waisted, i felt like i needed to go a little farther to compare to everyone else's waist. now i would be happy to be where it was in my avatar pic. *sigh* :perplexed

are there any new conditioners on the market that give ALOT of slip? this is what i need after i wash. my hair doesn't really tangle. but it comes out quite a bit when i'm combing the conditioner through.

onceuponatime, what does the Neosporin AF do? how often do you apply? you put it on your scalp?

cayenne, thanks for mentioning the Alter Ego Cren. it's a little pricey. does anyone know if it smells bad? i hate stuff that smells bad...

ANYWHOOOO, i will update my album after i get a trim. yes, i have resorted to holding onto hair that i know needs to go. lol! it's a little embarassing...

p.s. i am so pleased and proud to see everyone reaching their goals and inspiring the newbies!!

WOW.... Hey there Adrienne great to see ya ! Been so long I done migrated to the West Coast myself. :) I guess I'm sort of an "old-head" too. Time sure flies.

I recently started popping my head back in here to get some inspiration after over a year of neglecting my hair and paying the price :ohwell:. (divorce can do that to ya I guess.) I'm on the "BT" train myself now to get a boost. So far I like it.

Hey Adrienne
My first hair inspiration!!
Try the garlic shampoo and conditioner for shedding. Stores carry the unscented ones too (since you don't like the smell) but I like it :look:

welcome back adrienne! you are one of my original hair idols.:D i continue to show your hair album to my friends and family (especially my momma:) ) as proof that our hair can grow to great lengths. i remember you and allandra from bhsgo too. i didn't know that the lhcf developed from that though.:look:

your hair looks amazing as usual, and your avi pic definitely looks waist length to me (actually 3-4 in past waist -- the narrowest part of your torso) (i also think of my waist as where my pants sit/butt is, but that's actually hip length. )

as far as the most slippiest conditioners, go check out 'The Most "Slippiest" Conditioner' Thread there' s plenty of suggestions there:
http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=113240&highlight=slippiest+conditioners

my fav's are aussie moist, trader joe's nourish spa, & aubrey organics rose mosqueta.

for shedding, have you tried fo-ti (ho shou wu). it's a chinese herbal that's supposed to extend the anagen phase of the hair cycle:
http://www.althealth.co.uk/help_and_advice/supplements/hoshouwu
http://www.immortalhair.homestead.com/files/Entire_Hair_Loss_Book.htm

as always thanks for sharing your journey. you are truly an inspiration. best wishes & hhg:)
