Any Naturals Use Silicones? - Lacio Lacio, Salerm 21, Neutrogena Triple Moisture, Etc?

Are any other naturals using 'cones successfully? When, why, and what do you use?

I decided I had to do something different to see if I can gain control over the frizzy pouf I end up with and so I bought NTM and to my surprise, my twistout stayed put without frizzing and poofing out. (My family was impressed because it's been bad, y'all!)

This twistout has lasted 5 days so far and I've retwisted twice. The humidity (dew point) was lower than this summer, of course, but it was still high enough to affect me like normal. So I'm gonna keep experimenting with 'cones and see how it goes, especially since a sulfate shampoo is already in my reggie.

Yes I use and love cones. Use them in my:
Rinse out conditioners:
I'm trying out Joico Moisture recovery balm for this. So far, I love it.

My deep conditioners:
MoroccanOil Hydrating masque
Silk Elements Olive Megsilk
ORS replenishing conditioner
*and testing out more*

Leave in's
It's a 10
Chi Keratin
Redken Anti Snap

Serum
MoroccanOil oil treatment

I do clarify often so I usually don't get buildup. I find that having cones in my regimen is a plus for detangling and ensures the light flowy hair that I prefer.

Thanks for this info and the list. The Joico Moisture Recovery Balm is my holy grail DC! I've been using it for over a year.

I think all of my products have cones in them. I use Aussie Moist which my hair loves. I also use it's a 10 with Keratin as a leave in. And I've recently repurchased something my hair loved before. A Dominican conditioner called cabilo - the olive oil one. I'm sure there are cones in that.

I've been reincorporating products with cones into my wash days the last 3 months and it's working out great, especially now that my hair has become more porous. The only area I still don't use them is for daily moisturizing. When I tried that my hair started feeling abnormally dry by day 2.
I shampoo weekly too.

Conditioners - Joico (kpak reconstructor, revitaluxe, moisture recovery conditioner, moisture recovery balm)
Leave ins - Alterna 10 in 1 CC leave in hair perfector and its a 10

I appreciate y'all mentioning your 'cone products because it's giving me more ideas. A couple mentioned Aussie Moist. I've been using that so long that I forgot it had cones in it. It's my Great Detangler! :toocool:

NTM is the first 'cone heavy leave-in I've tried. (I did attempt it with wash-out conditioners before, namely Aussie Moist and Aveeno Nourish and Shine, but it lead to my hair feeling coated.) So to find a product that's formulated to be left in and is full of 'cones and is keeping my hair soft and moisturized and defined, I feel like I hit the jackpot!
:cup:

It was mentioned upthread about rediscovering Dominican products. Well, this is my first delve in that arena, and it's now on my list to explore if the NTM ever turns on me!

Though I'm currently not natural (transitioning), I loved cones while natural, especially DCs and serums for detangling. I washed and still wash my hair frequently so the buildup was not an issue.

I've always used cones from BSL relaxed to APL natural now. My mains are Silicon Mix and Dr. Cabello conditioners.

@Holla  at your Avi! I love it!

Anyway, I am going to incorporate cones into my regimen. Once I use up my natchel stuff, I'm going to experiment with DCs and leave ins that have them.

What shampoo are you ladies using to get them out that doesn't leave your hair stripped?

@NaturallyATLPCH I use Elucence volume clarifying shampoo at the beginning of every month to clarify. It does not strip my hair at all plus it has salicylic acid in it which is good for exfoliating the scalp and removing dead skin. I lovessssss :2inlove: it. I use any Shea Moisture shampoo on the other weeks. They all feel the same to me but I tend to always gravitate towards the coconut or the Superfruit one. I don't love them like I love Elucence though...they just kinda get me by until I can clarify. I guess it's strange that I prefer a clarifying shampoo to the "moisturizing" ones. lol :lachen:

I use L'Oreal Paris Hyaluronic Power Moisture Hydrating Shampoo. I've been using it for about 6 months now. Before that I was using Chi Nourishing Silk Bath. I love them both.

I bought Silicon Mix Leave-in this weekend, so I'm going to try that after I wash on the 1st.

I needed to read this thread. I shied away from cones when i first went natural for some reason but i don't know why. I reached for my cone conditioner this weekend because my hair had gotten really tangled and was fighting with me. I think ill start using a cone conditioner every third wash or so.
