Onyc Hair

Yes. The hair is OK. I found it sheds considerably less than Indique though you get less ounces than Indique. I also found the hair lacked volume (I ordered Relaxed Perm). I'll go with Yaki hair next time or their Fro-Out option.

I have fine hair and don't really like volume. I also always seal my wefts as well.

I've ordered Light Relaxed, Relaxed Perm and that new straighter hair they had premieres this summer which is thicker than the first two I ordered. I like the service with them and will probably continue ordering hair from them.

I have had their light relaxed and relaxed in 12, 16 and 18 inches. The hair is full and i have reused for sewins at 4x each. I will never use a different brand again. I cant wait to try the fro out. Ill be trying that next year.

You use a closure? I wanted to get the light relaxed but the closure is only in the regular relaxed.

Do you think the closure is very natural looking?
@julzinha , I personally wouldn't say very natural looking...I mean my stylist bleached the knots and to me that helped but I could look at it and tell it's a closure.... (I'm very particular) ...my sister and my male friend seem to think it looks nice. I think it's more obvious up close but in pictures it's very natural looking.

I've had the fro out installed for a full four weeks now and so far I really like it, BUT keep in mind this is the first install I've ever had so I don't really have much to compare it to. I'm still a little worried about the longevity because the hair started being offered so recently.

I've washed the hair a total of three times (once before installing and twice after) and the has not turned on me at all. No tangling and very little shedding, none while washing and maybe 2-3 hairs during the week when styling. The wefts were cut and not sealed. The hair does hold a curl for a few days if I use a setting mousse (Nairobi) or set on wet hair. Trying to curl with a curling wand on dry hair gave me one day hair before it starts to fall.

It matches my hair almost identically both texture and color. My hair is just a bit more frizzy naturally but Sabino moisture block takes care of that. Blending has been very easy except when the weather has been abnormally super humid (DMV weather smh).

I have some EPRT ready to go and I just ordered some GHOH blowout so I'll see how everything compares over the next year.

I have used the Fro-out wefts since it debuted and have went on to buy it several times. I have worn it sewn in and made a couple of wigs. I actually like it more than EPRT because it is more coarse. I wear it long, 16"-20". I have hot curled it, set it, ironed it, and let it air dry. It maintains its texture well. The wefts that I split had light shedding but sealing took care of that. The un-split wefts rarely shed. I did however notice a small amount of breakage with my first wig but it is years old at this point.

Maintenance is simple for me. I co-wash it or wash with a simple shampoo like Cream of Nature or Kirkland conditioner. I condition it if I used shampoo. I then lightly spray a leave in like Jane Carter or a homemade mix and use a quarter size amount of serum to seal it. Thats all I have to do. The hair dries with a nice soft, coarse texture that matches my hair well. I usually wear it in its natural state.

I will say this, the wefts arrive looking smooth and relatively straight. You don't see the true texture until you wash or wet it. A friend of mine installed too much hair because she thought that it was too silky. She washed it and turned into Cousin It lol.

I haven't tried their closure. I really want to but I'm leery about closures in general. I really like the look of a natural scalp and no matter how many tricks you try, there is a limit to how natural it is going to look in person because of the grid. I do however want to try one for when I start lifting weights heavy again and don't want to fool with leave out. I just have to have realistic expectations for a closure. They appear to be constructed well. I'm going to try one when they go on sale again.

Any more questions just left me know.

I used the 3b3c hair recently and I am not impressed. I bought this hair after the place I previously purchased air closed. I have experience with textured sewins. And yes I sealed the wefts and didn't cut them.

The hair sheds and also knots, often. I actually damaged my own hair because of the tugging to constantly comb out the hair.

The first sew in was ok but towards the end, it seemed to knot worse. I took it out washed it conditioned it and reinstalled with the closure then things got bad.

Second install. Shed constantly and knotted. I used their closure this time not impressed it was a very poor closure for the price.

Lastly, I want to say that it seemed that one bundle of hair was a poorer quality than the other which is were the problem was I think. Unforchanately out don't know that until afte you wash and condition it which would have voided the return sticker on he hair. I thought this hair would be difficult after I got it ready for the first installed as one entire bundle seemed ot not curly as well and really acted more like cheap synthetic hair and human hair. But i used it anyway as I had purchased it and didn't feel I had a choice.

I will not repurchase.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. I have wanted to buy Onyc hair for a long time now, but the cost of their hair scares me that I might pay $$$ for a bad bundle. I really think almost all hair companies, good or bad, sometimes produce “bad” batches (intentional or not, idk.) And yeah, there’s no way to tell until you start using the hair! :(

Have you found a replacement company yet? How do you like them?

No I have found a replacement I would recommend. I did recently but some natural texture clipins after a few months I will post here if they are working out. This same company has wefted hair as well. The reviews I found online where good.

Hergivenhair.com

I am in no way affiliated with this company nor paid for my opinion. thank you.
