Does Anyone Still Use Rinse Out Conditioners As A Leave In?

Its been a while since I've tried using rinse out conditioners as a leave in. My experience in the past has been so-so since the conditioners I've tried left a dull film on my hair. I'm looking to try again since rinse out are generally cheaper than leave-ins (and I go though them quickly).

What are the best store brought conditioners for leave in? I'm looking for conditioners that doesn't have much protein since I already have products for that purpose and don't want to overdo it in that area.

Sometimes. Hello Hydration mixed with aloe juice is a great leave in. I only do that when I am out of leave in. Pretty much any conditioner thinned out with aloe or oils will work.

Giovanni ...if I think I need a little shine, I just use a little oil with it and mix it in my hand before applying. I now see no need to buy leave-ins (but I'm a product junkie so that'll change soon enough lol).

Yes ma'am, I've been doing this since 1999 on both natural and texlaxed hair.

My favorites are Tresemme Moisture Rich, Suave Tropical Coconut and I've recently had good results with Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge. V05 condishes might be good too. I tried Tresemme Naturals Moisture condish and it felt filmy. I also use Aussie Moist when my hair is in mini braids but I find it filmy as well.

ETA, I don't do any mixes. I just rinse (after cleansing/cowashing), smother my hair with the condish, throw it in a ponytail and squeeze out the excess water while I'm in the shower.
GL! :)

When I used to do this I really liked Alberto V05's Passion Fruit Smoothie. I think it has soy milk protein in it, though.

I will if I won't be needing any gels or anything because the mixture always leaves white chunks in my hair. I use Aussie moist. I leave a very small amount but it works good for me as a leave in. True leave ins never seem to make any difference in my hair.

I've used OGX argon oil rinse out as a leave in only when I'm traveling to save space in my carryon bag. I got a really nice twistout :). It's not something I would do regularly because my hair would dry out.

I used Hello Hydration once some years ago and I forgot how it worked for me, but I've been considering buying it again.
Does it have any cones?
- I'll use that suggestion of cond. with aloe, sounds good.

Yes it has cones. Cones give me slip

I've been using Aussie Moist Conditioner as a leave in over the past few weeks and so far, so good. It has cones but since I do use shampoo at least every other week, its been fine. So far its the only conditioner that doesn't leave a dull film on my hair. :)

I used to use and love Jessicurl too Shea as my leave-in and I loved it. Shea moisture conditioners are pretty good leave ins as well.
I'm just seeing this, but I used to do the same thing with the Too Shea; it was and still is a great moisturizing leave in. I plan to revisit it.

I've used Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship as a leave in, and it worked OK. Silk Dreams Wheat Germ Conditioner is great as a leave in, and a daily moisturizer.

I'm thinking I might try using my deep conditioner as a leave in more often. It has worked out for me with Silk Dreams Vanilla Silk.

Yes I use Tresemme Luxurious Moisture, Tresemme Flawless Curls or V05 Passion Fruit Smoothie. But unless I put them on my hair while it's still soaking wet or dilute the conditioners with water, it'll leave a white film on my hair.
