Today made my 3rd green tea rinse. I barely had any shedding. Maybe a nickel sized ball of hair. Before washing, my hair had been in small twists under a wig for a week. I do want to try other teas but I don't want them to darken my hair so I'll have to do some research.

Made a brew with green tea and black tea, sprayed it on my scalp, parting it like a perm, then sprayed some oil on my scalp. After that, I put some deep conditioner on my dry hair shaft and ends and covered in a plasic cap and scarf for sleeping last night.

Today I'll wash it off with a chelating poo.

Today I mixed brahmi, marshmallow powder and bhringraj into a mask and put it in my hair. The marshmallow is supposed to give a lot of slip and help with detangling but honestly I didn't feel a difference.

On another note, my hair has been breaking off like crazy these last two weeks (since the henna gloss, which I thought came out great). I've seen many more little pieces than usual in the sink etc. Maybe about 20 a day. It's very concerning to me. I don't know what the cause is, but I'm going to blame it on the silicon mix I used a month ago cuz I'm still mad about it.

Wash day today, I did my usual green tea scalp rinse. I meant to do a black tea to the length but forgot. Ordered slippery elm powder from vitamingrocer, hopefully it arrives before I uninstall my braids on Feb 14th.

@IDareT'sHair I aim to go mostly DIY products this year which is 90% powders, oil, juices and berries so I will use this thread to record that new journey, I promise to sign up this weekend though I won't be able to post a starting pic till mid Feb as I am currently PS'ing.

Used neem oil along with an exfoliator for my scalp treatment. Neem has really cut down the irritation on my scalp to zero. I've tried scalp treatments without it and the neem without an exfoliant and they just work best together.

Also did a clay treatment last night with Bentonite, rhassoul, acv and water because I couldnt deal with a harsher shampoo, but I wanted to make sure all the buildup was gone. All good.

Two weeks till I uninstall the extension braids PS I had in since 8th Nov, and this will also be my 4 year HHJ / 3 years natural! So green tea scalp spritzes and black tea to the lengths every other day in preparation.
