Question for you ladies. I like the benefits of thickened hair and less shedding that I get when I was taking oral MSM, however I had to stop because it was reeking havoc on my monthly cycle. Do any of you ladies use the powdered version in masks or sprays? If so can you share how you use or prepare it? Ingesting MSM over and above what's in my hair vitamin just doesn't work for me. Thanks!

I have a question on the cleansing powders: I won't have the time to wash my hair and then condition it over the weekend. Can I just mix a bit of cleansing powder with brahmi for example to do both at the same time (cleanse and condition?) Which cleansing powders would you recommend? I have yet to use any. Thanks in advance!!

@cravoecanela Rhassoul clay is a pretty moisturizing cleanser. It leaves the hair soft even if you only mix it with water but you could always add more moisturising ingredients like coconut milk if you wanted to focus on moisture. If you have a lot of buildup I'd say just use water. I've never used brahmi so i can't give you any info there.

I have low porosity dry hair & dry scalp. My ratio is 2 parts conditioning powders and 1 cleansing powder. The liquid is a moisturizing herb with slip (marshmallow, nettle, burdock, slippery elm, irish moss, chamomile, etc.)

My cleansing powders are Neem, shikaikai, aritha (soap nut/soap berry), Brahmi, tulsi (holy basil)

If you must skip deep conditioner or are in a protective style:
1.prepoo your hair overnight.
2a.Make a tea from your powders & steep overnight. Apply the tea. Discard the powder.
OR
2b. Add a lightweight conditioner to your powder mix and cowash. I use Sheamoisture Purification Masque or Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Tamanu conditioner.
3. Rinse well then use a high quality moisurizing leave-in. I use Darcy's Botanicals Pumpkin Seed conditioner, Jane Carter Hydrate or Restore mists, Qhemet Biologics or Afroveda buttercreams, Oyin Handmade Hair Dew or Honey Hemp, Nubian Heritage masques, Sheamoisture Raw SheaButter masque, milk, conditioner or detangler.

Thank you so much! I had no idea brahmi had cleansing properties. Would I be able to leave in a powder like shikakai or aritha or neem in my hair over night? (if mixed with brahmi for example?)

Edit: my hair is also low porosity, dry and rather thin.
