I Wasnt Expecting This...

Ok last month I had the privilege to go to the international beauty show in NYC. There (amongst an array of stuff) I purchased some products from a company called RG cosmetics. I have been eyeing their hair botox for a while.

While I was there in person the representative recommended not the hair botox but something called bb creme. Since the price was reasonable I bought the kit and they sent me home with bags and bags of free products to boot.

There are multiple application choices with this product which give you different results. I chose the reconstruction treatment. It was applied by my teacher and she only did 2 passes at 370. I left the hair straight for a while and I just washed it today. I was surprised at the result.

Here is my natural texture:

This is my hair after the bb creme:

Here is a picture of the product:

Now I don't hate my natural texture (although it annoys me at times) but I was looking into offering non relaxer texture services and decided to try it out on myself. Previous smoothing or keratin treatments Ive tried only loosen the curl very slightly. So these results were a bit shocking.

If any one is interested on how this works out I will keep you posted. I plan on keeping it up for a while and seeing if it helps or hinders my growth. Also soon I will do a full review on my website www.saloncoils.com

Wow! It really looks good. And your curls are really elongated. Are you happy with the results? You said you were shocked...

Keep us updated for sure! I am too scared of heat damage, so I won't be trying it.

Actually this product has two applications where no flat ironing is needed. It can be used for a volume/frizz reducer if you just blow dry it in. Or you can use it for hair crystallization which makes the hair extra shiny. No heat needed. This is why I think this is a superior formulation compared to others I've tried in the past.

Ok wow what is in it? Will it change your texture over time?
That would be really great if I could change my texture for a special occasion then have it revert back.
Thanks for sharing I cannot wait to see what happens over time.

I've been wanting to do something different with my hair.
I will keep an eye on this thread. Looks interesting.
Please keep us posted on if your hair reverts back.

How does it make your hair look when it's straight & how long does it take for your hair to revert or frizz while straight?

I'm not sure what he active ingredient is but they told me it doesn't have formaldehyde . I need to do more research as to what is in it.

Yes I want to see if it wears off but I'm ok if it doesn't. It's the risk I chose to take for science!:brainy:

My hair was pin straight for over a week while I had the treatment in. I need to see if it makes a regular blow and flat iron last longer.

I wouldn't want anything changing my hair like that. For that, I'd just go relax it again.

Well the point of this experiment is for me to provide relaxer free texture services. This product acts differently on the hair than a relaxer. It dilates the curl without breaking the it unlike a traditional relaxer. Because of this some may find it a decent alternative to a relaxer/texturizer. No burning and not much more effort to apply than compared to a regular blow and flat iron.

@Napp Do you have a list of ingredients? Is it thio based?

ETA: I just saw the post where you said you're not sure what the active ingredient is!

Oh well then that's awesome that you found that.

You have to remember that this is a salon proffesional product. A treatment alone can cost $120+ for just one client with short hair and I am being generous. One buys it to make money. It's not really made for at home use.

I figured as much; that's why I wrote that it's probably on the lines of KBT; which in some salons is 300 +. One salon quoted me at 500 for a Japanese treatment. I think for a relatively unknown product it is alil surprising to be 300. And I think you said that it was "reasonably price". To me 300 is not "reasonably priced", lol.

You might have mentioned it, but How long does it last??

I did not purchase my product for 300. Since it was a hair show they had promotional bundle prices and plus I haggled and plus I got 2 sets free so that was a deal

Results last for 3 to 6 months

Is this a Keratin treatment? The application process sounds the same.
It's a keratin treatment that could be used in like 6 different ways one of those being it applied similar to a traditional keratin

In what portion of the country are you located @Napp? I would love to be your test subject! Your hair is drool-worthy by the way!!!!

Bumping this thread for an update!!!

Oh thanks. I live in NY. So far I like the results. It's permanent though so some people don't like that. I did a touch up and it was easy to do. I cut my hair twice since then so I don't know if it afffects how I retain. But that is what I'm monitoring now.
